When Administrations replace experienced professionals with unqualified political loyalists, disasters happen.

GW Bush did that and it resulted in disasters - especially with FEMA's lack of response to hurricane Katrina.

This type of thing may appeal to the childish nonsense of believing that there's some imaginary 'Deep State', but all those Federal Employees are just doing their mundane jobs that keep the government providing services.

The French, the Russians & the Cubans all dismantled the existing governments by removing the workers and caused an economic catastrophe. Then when their governments are a complete failure they start arresting imaginary 'counter-revolutionaries'

If Trump's legion of political loyalists ever do take over the government, the same will happen here - because they won't know their asses from their elbows about how to do their jobs.

We had an Iraqi insurgency that could have been managed so much better.0

(1) a vetting of the Iraqi Army instead of a stand down; and

(2) a rebuilding program of $15 an hour to Iraqi workers instead of a no-bid to Haliburton.

Both would have tied the overwhelming majority of Iraqis to the future.
