Colin Powell: Occupy Wall Street Demonstrations Are 'As American As Apple Pie'

Yea, well the concept of protesting is, but what these idiots are doing doesn't fall into that category. Taking over public and private spaces, spreading disease, letting rapists go unreported, crapping and pissing anywhere they want, refusing to feed the homeless not to mention costing the taxpayers and businesses thousands and thousands of dollars, are definitely not apple pie.

I used to respect Colin Powell, somehow he's becoming short sighted as he ages.

Have you had a chance to visit one of the sites? I did. Well organized, clean and a huge police presence.

Protest is as American as apple pie. Whether that be the Tea Party or OWS. Anyone remembering my posts about the Tea Party..was I didn't like the movement, didn't think it was genuine..but I thought they had every right to protest.

Simple as that.

Yep...simple as that!

Powell is a turncoat who voted for obamaturd for one reason only,RACE. Apparently he loves socialism also.

American First....what you mean is Republican First. In my view the two are mutually inconsistent...opposites.

But, Dummmbell, your view is the view of a complete fucking moron. So, it doesn't matter.

When I read what Powell said, in context, I find it quite reasonable. Whether I agree with him or not, he clearly lays out his reasoning, and I don't disagree. Shockingly, Fail&Won'tGo's "source", the HuffPuff, spins Powell's words into a 'headline'.

For example, I agree with him on this.... "It isn't enough just to scream at the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations. We need our political system to start reflecting this anger back into, 'How do we fix it? How do we get the economy going again?'"
