Christianity and our founding fathers 240317 {post•283}
Aquinas believed that the existence of the God of Abraham through revelation
was essential to the foundation of natural-rights.
Jefferson believed that the human pursuit through reason in the existence of a UNIVERSAL with absolutely nothing to do with a God of Abraham was essential to the foundation of natural-rights.
Jefferson is heretical to Christian for his rational belief in God.

How many more citations do you need? You've provided nothing but denial. Where are YOUR links?Ding, they are mostly allegations not evidence.
Evidence is people reporting that GW repeatedly walked in the parish garden during the communion so he did not have to partake. That is not implied to be a believer in Natural Rights.
You need to have a specific piece of advice for each Founder, which you don't.
The Founders were living more than 250 years ago.
What they thought then means nothing now. 'Originalism' as a political guidance is only that, now, and can be changed at any time.

Aquinas has nothing to do with this, dummy. And nothing you say will ever change the fact that the founding fathers believed that natural rights come from the creator. And that they believed the creator was moralistic, and providential. And that the creator's existence produces a causal relation to the world and why natural rights exist in the first place. All your citations in the world, do not overcome the difference between Jefferson and Aquinas based on their action
Jefferson took a light sword to Darth Vader Aquinas’ Catholic Church-State repression of natural rights under the divine author of natural law and lopped off its fucking head.
Jefferson was no Christian or part of our Christian heritage in the United States of America.
And that is why we have freedom of religion, freedom of conscience, and separation of church and state.
Jefferson was just using the lingo of his timeAquinas has nothing to do with the dummy. And nothing you say will ever change the fact that the founding fathers believed that natural rights come from the creator. And that they believed the creator was moralistic, and providential. And that the existence creator his causal relation to the world is why natural rights exist in the first place.
It's because of their beliefs in natural rights that they created a nation where freedom of religion exists.

It's up to you to prove at least one of them didn't as I have produced citations that they all did. Can you? Because it's your claim to prove.I only point out those are allegations but not evidence. You cannot prove every or most of the founders believed in Natural Law as you suggest.

You have provided citations that alleged such, but have not proven so.It's up to you to prove at least one of them didn't as I have produced citations that they all did. Can you? Because it's your claim to prove.
You're really wound up, aren't you?
Doesn't matter. Jefferson believed in the existence of a providential, moralistic God of Nature. Whose existence and causal relation to the world is the source of natural-rights. Christians believe that too. All of the founding fathers believed that.
