There was, 40 or 50 years ago, a Committee on the Present Danger: Soviet Union. That is gone but a repurposed version is now at work. Hopefully this group with educate our policy makers & the general public about Red China's ambitions, especially in regard to the USA:

The Chinese are about business. We are about hegemony both political and economic. The 'problem' with the Chinese is that they are cutting in on our economic turf. They were supposed to sit tight, make our cheap plastic shit and be happy like the rest of Asia. However, they have bigger and brighter economic aspirations. In order to counter that we must conflate to drive public opinion by accusing them of taking the same route we have.
