Read the damn law. Parents are separated from children because they broke the law and went to jail. No children go to jail with the parents. Families are together until the parent decides not to cooperate with authorities in cases where they are detained for a misdemeanor border crossing. They have the option of taking their children back over the border and coming back the right way. Trump doesn't separate them as a matter of policy. MSNBC articles even admit that. Only time they are separated is when the parent goes to jail. And that happens for a variety of reasons:

-They have previously been deported.

-They have previously been convicted of a crime and deported.

-They are not the actual parents of the child. This is a concern because some children have actually been kidnapped and taken across the border. Just today, a 6 year old was found wandering alone in the desert after his "uncle" left him. Human trafficking is also a major problem so when the people with the children are not their parents, it sends up a red flag.

Anyone crossing illegally is given the chance to go back over the border and enter the correct way. If they refuse and opt to fight it, they are told to contact family in the U.S. or Mexico to take custody of the children while they remained detained awaiting court hearing. And sometimes, it would be incredibly stupid to allow children in some of the detention centers. There are also gang members and other dangerous people detained. The emotional and whiny Trump haters are not looking at this logically. If there is any concern for the children, stop and think about why things are done the way they are. I realize for most that bashing Trump is the real objective and this is just the latest issue that the crybabies have latched onto.

No one is ripping children away from their parents. The left is so full of shit. The parents have several opportunities to prevent separation:

-Don't fucking enter illegally.

-When caught entering illegally, own up to it and head back across the border and re-enter the legal way.

-If a person insists on fighting it in order to buy time and get a court date that they have no intention of showing up to, at least hand the children back to family. Otherwise, they will be in the state's custody and put in foster care. Of course, now the left must villify all foster parents, too.

When people enter illegally, they will be detained. We can't just let everyone do as they please with no process.

The left's insistence that children not be separated at all can only happen if all laws regarding illegal immigration are ignored, no one is processed, and all people are allowed to enter without question.
