This is wild. He's up really big almost double Cruz in this poll that Politico is reporting on.

"The results, provided to POLITICO, show Trump leading statewide with 41 percent of the vote and Cruz trailing far behind with 23 percent. John Kasich is in third with 21 percent, and 15 percent of Republicans said they remain undecided.

California is worth 172 delegates when it votes on June 7 — with the winner of each of the state’s 53 congressional districts receiving three delegates. The statewide winner receives 13 delegates.

The Capitol Weekly/Sextant Strategies poll shows Trump winning in almost every corner of the state, from San Diego and Orange County to northern California and the Bay Area, though some regions have small sample sizes.

Cruz performs strongest in the Central Valley, as he has in previous surveys, though he still trails Trump there by 7 percentage points, 35 percent to 28 percent. Trump leads in the liberal Bay Area, but it is Kasich who nudges above Cruz into second place, trailing Trump 39 percent to 25 percent."

TRUMP UP BIG in California: Trump 41, Cruz 23, Kasich 21

:lmao: With his comments about women and Hispanics? Clearly this poll was taken in each region named VERY SELECTIVELY, probably in taverns with 100% white male conservative blue collar clientele..

The OP even admits: "though some regions have small sample sizes" :lmao:

If you buy this, you truly are a complete idiot.

Polls mainly matter if there is California ground game. LA Times Today: Trump doesn't have one.

Under party rules, it's a winner-take-all contest in each of California's 53 congressional districts, with three delegates up for grabs in each. Another 13 delegates go to the statewide winner.

First, though, each candidate has until May 8 to submit a slate of 169 delegates; the remaining three are party leaders. The candidates must be careful, though, to find loyalists who won't abandon them if multiple votes take place at the national convention. In other states, many Trump delegates plan to switch to Cruz if they get the chance.

To find three staunch supporters in every California congressional district, along with three alternates, is no easy task.

"It's a daunting logistical and organizational challenge," said Jeff Randle, a GOP operative in Sacramento who rounded up California delegates for Mitt Romney in 2012.

The Cruz campaign has a huge head start. Led by former chairmen of the state GOP, the Cruz team has been building its delegate slate and plotting a district-by-district strategy since last August. The Trump campaign only hired its state director last week.

Josh Putnam, a University of Georgia expert on the delegate selection process, has been carefully tracking the nominating fight and charting the progress after every contest. .
It will be close."

Delegates in many states are waiting for ballot two, to switch. A California Presidential primary that matters is still kind of new, admittedly. People trying to register Independent, actually wound up AIP members, in California. Independents likely would have been Trump or Sanders voters--understanding the Socialist kind of Beast(?)!

Interesting commentary but untrue. Trump's people have moved heavy into California. Mega$$$$ advertising and with Manafort and Wiley in charge now their ground game is solid.

I'd take him in a heartbeat over Trudeau.

Kasich beat Cruz in the NY primary so it doesn't sound too good for the "C" man no matter how the media tries to spin it.

You really shouldn't be such a bigot against white male blue collar workers. Both parties need them.

Small sample sizes is explained by few voters in certain districts. Not by faulty methodology. It's explained here. Do you understand polling and methodology?

"Even with our robust sample of more than 1,000 likely voters, it’s still not enough to look at individual districts. And some districts have so few voters we may never see significant polling. But, to enhance our findings we combined districts based on contiguity and common demographics as a way to interpret what might happen on a district-by-district basis."

Really? New York Times disagrees with NBC. Completely.

"Despite calling for a “big, beautiful” wall at the Southern border (which Mexico will pay for), the deportation of all illegal immigrants, and labeling some Mexicans rapists and drug dealers, businessman Donald Trump won more than half of the GOP Hispanic vote in New York City, according to exit polls.

Mr. Trump won the Soundview, Castle Hill area in the Bronx with 100 percent of the vote, according to the New York Times vote tracker. That area has a relatively diverse population, primarily consisting of blacks and Latin Americans. In the Jackson Heights, Queens, area where many Hispanics reside, Mr. Trump won precincts ranging from 41 percent of the vote, to 87 percent of the vote, with most precincts clocking in above 60 percent for Mr. Trump.

All told, in areas with at least a 50 percent Hispanic population, Mr. Trump won 61 percent of the vote within the city, according to the New York Times vote tracker. It’s an unexpected victory to many political pundits and establishment Republicans who were sure, Mr. Trump would repeal the Hispanic vote through his bombastic statements and immigration plan."
