CA Sen. Diane Feinstein's death opens up new possibilities for next year's Presidential campaign. With mounting evidence of his family's corrupt business dealings and his cratering approval ratings, President Biden will likely be forced to "retire" (or at least announce that he will not seek reelection) before the end of his term. This will still leave the Democrats with the dilemma of what to do with the even less popular VP Kamala Harris.

With this new Senate vacancy, CA Gov. Newsome has an opportunity to solve this problem for the DNC while boosting his Presidential aspirations at the same time. He has already pledged to appoint a Black Woman to replace Feinstein, and who better than Kamala? With her resignation to rejoin the Senate and Biden's imminent departure, the DNC would have an enhanced opportunity to select more viable candidates for the 2024 election. Biden could appoint another (Black Woman?) successor, while Newsome would become a serious contender for Vice President.

This scenario would allow Newsome to escape his California baggage, whether he was elected or not. In either event, he would instantly become a front runner for a future Presidential nomination. Let the games continue!

With dealing with Kamala, offer her the dog catcher position in Happy Camp, Ca.
She just may fall for it.

Forget the writers strike, real life events are writing a better Damien Omen script for Newsome, than Hellywood ever could dream up. Imagine taking the hell they created for Cali and expanding it to a national scale?

I doubt Sen. Feinstein's reported death will affect her reelection chances in 2024.

Michelle as VP?

Michelle as VP?
It might be sticky to replace Kamala if Biden was renominated (although the Dems have never been much for decorum). Otherwise, the question would be who would be the Presidential nominee. Most of Michelle's appeal (to Democrats) would be that her husband would be pulling the strings behind the scenes. In that event, why not nominate Michelle for President and Gavin as her manservant VP?
