Bulletin To The 'No Borders' Crowd

And yet, the first point in Obama's recent announcement of his immigration action was:

First, we’ll build on our progress at the border with additional resources for our law enforcement personnel so that they can stem the flow of illegal crossings and speed the return of those who do cross over.
whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat Obama believe it tighter borders guards???? how can this be ...who would have thunk it ... better tell 007 he thinks obama feels to accept them with opoen arms

You can certainly tell by all the frontiers people that died at the hands of those Indian savages, the govt. just didn't care....

.....your post... looking at it .... I'd give this seven monkeys, twelve minutes.

It took you 1 post to get to the off-topic personal insult stage. That ties your record.

It took you two. Do you have a point?

I'm on topic.

Now that Obozo allows illegals to stay, it won't be long before the liberals say " it isn't fair our immigrants can't vote. Mr obama give them the vote!"

But there are many reasons for borders, not the least is that having a specific geography is the definition of a nation.

1. "There is a responsibility that flows from citizenship, duties to others, basically to strangers, including a defense of their common territory and the maintenance of the law that applies within said jurisdiction."
Roger Scruton, "The West and the Rest."

a. Note the central idea: territory. There is no common territory without borders, nor is there national sovereignty.

2.Even Left-leaning Slate mag is getting the reality.

" Unfortunately, many progressives have gone beyond denouncing the obnoxious component of the Arizona statute and the bigotry of many right-wing nativists who defend it to implying that enforcement of any federal immigration law is racist. In doing so, much of the progressive commentariat has demonstrated its distance, not only from the American public as a whole, but also from most Democratic and independent voters." 3. "Liberals and mainstream media writers seem offended that Americans want to take precautions--like securing the border--to prevent an Ebola outbreak at home." MSM Liberals Offended Americans Want Secure Borders to Prevent Ebola Outbreak

And this:
4. “A well-placed source informed Congressman Hunter that foreign nationals with known association to IS were apprehended along the Texas-Mexico border," said Joe Kasper, a spokesman for Hunter, R-Alpine. "Beyond that, we confirmed that every day, border officials are apprehending foreign nationals from countries of security interest, including Syria. And it should concern every American, whether in Texas or beyond, that these individuals are getting that close to the border in the first place."

But there is another reason to have a strong and well defended border.

1) I don't know of any liberals that believe in open borders

And that includes our president who has fought the pubs who refuse to address the situation.

Yep. He very clearly said any more who come will be deported, just as he has deported millions already.

Why have the Republicans fought so hard against deporting illegals?

Because its Big Business who hires them and the pubs always side against the country and in favor of the 1%.

you must be familiar with the anti-immigration movement in this country that once was identified by the name of the "Yellow Peril".
The movement where they hung Chinese and Asians as yard decorations?

Some laws from back when we were serious about keeping out the foreign riff-raff:

1. The Chinese Exclusion Act was a United States federal law signed by President Chester A. Arthur on May 6, 1882. It was one of the most significant restrictions on free immigration in US history, prohibiting all immigration of Chinese laborers.

2. The Geary Act was a United States law passed in 1892 written by California Congressman Thomas J. Geary. It extended the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 by adding onerous new requirements.
The law required all Chinese residents of the United States to carry a resident permit, a sort of internal passport. Failure to carry the permit at all times was punishable by deportation or a year of hard labor. In addition, Chinese were not allowed to bear witness in court, and could not receive bail in habeas corpus proceedings.

3. On February 5, 1917, the United States Congress passed the Immigration Act of 1917 (also known as the Asiatic Barred Zone Act) with an overwhelming majority, overriding President Woodrow Wilson's December 14, 1916, veto.

The most controversial part of the law was the section that designated an "Asiatic Barred Zone", a region that included much of Asia and the Pacific Islands from which people could not immigrate.

Except they were legal immigrants that followed the law when migrating here. You still want to bring up racism, when racism has nothing to do with it. So is your point that we should allow anyone in here to prove that we're not racist? The fact that there is a legal way to immigrate to this country should be ignored?

I'll do this ever so slowly, so that even you might.....might.....see the logic involved.

1. Terrorists see the value in sneaking into the US....as shown by those apprehended

2. Your unspoken position is that they were the only.....only.....ISIS terrorists who attempted to enter the country.

1. Did you know that it was Progressives doing that?

2. Did you know that teacher tenure came about because Progressives and Liberals were slandering the Chinese, and fired from university jobs because of same...and the elites- including the NYTimes insisted that that was their right?

3.Those were the same Liberals and Progressives who endorsed and enforced eugenics?

All true.

Leftists, Liberals, Progressives, whatever, have this irrational view, the "can't we all just get along....'they' want the same things we all want....."

Maybe.

But the truth is that there is evil in the world, and the job of government is to protect the innocent folks from it....and not simply by hoping for the best.

Here is a story that has
received very little play in the media.....but one that need be part of the equation when one considers the need for a strong border:

5. " MEXICO CITY, Nov 7 (Reuters) - Forty-three missing students abducted by corrupt police in southwest Mexico six weeks ago were apparently incinerated by drug gang henchmen and their remains tipped in a garbage dump and a river, the government said on Friday.

... the trainee teachers went missing on Sept. 26 after clashing with local police.
.... police working with a local drug gang abducted the students after the clashes.

The kidnapping triggered mass protests in much of the country and seriously undermined President Enrique Pena Nieto's claims that Mexico has become safer on his watch.

.... the students, from an all-male leftist college, had clashed with the mayor in the past and that the city police had handed them over to local gangsters who killed them."
Mexico Gang Members Confess To Mass Killing In Missing Students Probe

This is the culture against which borders serve as protection.

I wish this would get through to the Kumbaya set.

Is that why this President fought to prevent states like Arizona from taking additional efforts to protect their own borders and American citizens? Seems to me a President who cared to secure our borders would be open to additional help, rather than proceed with actions that promote preventing the deportation of those found illegally crossing it.
