Boeing did not "erase" the video. It automatically over-writes after 30 days. The blowout was 6 months after the repair, that CCTV footage was long gone.

The repair was made by Spirit personnel in Boeing's Renton plant, Spirit makes the fuselage section, which was shipped by rail to Seattle. Boeing flagged some bad rivets, and Spirit sent people to go out and replace them. When they put the door plug back on, they did not properly install it.

Boeing has docs and pictures that were provided to the NTSB and were included in the preliminary report. They are still hunting for the paperwork on who at Spirit did the actual repairs, and who signed it off.

That does not excuse Boeing, since ultimately it is their responsibility to make sure the processes are followed and the repairs are properly done.
