I have to agree with him on that point. We should get more of our Power from Nuclear Power. The fact is we have not built any new Reactors in over 30 Years. The scary thing is that New Technology means much safer Plants, yet instead of Building New ones, were are continuing to rely on old Technology at our Existing Plants.

For example, the New Designs would not even be having the problems the ones in Japan are having. Why? Well because the ones in Japan are 40 Year old Designs, and their Back up Emergency Cooling systems still rely on human Input, and power to operate.

The Design of New Plants have self Sufficient emergency cooling systems built into them. Systems that operate on Natural Laws of Physics, and do not require Human Input or Electricity to operate. Had the 6 Plants in Japan, been these newer Designs, we likely would not be having an issue at them at all.

The Plain Truth is that no other form of Power, Not Solar, not wind, NOTHING will fill our Needs like Nuclear can.

France is doing nuclear the right way even if their reactors are rather old.

They recycle over 95% of their nuclear "waste" and have an impeccable safety record.

While we have idiots here like Lieberman and Kerry wanting to "put the brakes" on any nuclear projects here because of what happened in Japan,

Tell me outside of the pacific coast what part of our country is earthquake prone?

Factor in that our so called technophiles of the dimocratic party are not even looking at the newer smaller less expensive safer mini reactors and are instead looking at the multi billion dollar behemoths.

If this is the quality of our leadership we are truly screwed.

Exactly, Does Lieberman understand that what he is suggesting is stopping the Development of New MUCH safer plants, in order to inspect our Older, Much less safe Plants.

It just makes no sense at all.

I can not even Watch CNN right now. They are being so Bad, and Alarmist it is unbelievable.

They keep asking if this will be as bad as Chernobly. Even when expert after expert Explains to them, that because of the Design of these Plants, that a chernobly Like Release where Radiation gets way up in the atmosphere and spreads all around the globe is not Possible, They still keep fear mongering and scaring the hell out of people.

The simple Fact is this accident in Japan, could be very bad Locally, But will have little effect world wide. the Press has people so scared they are trying to get iodine Tablets in California, when it is all but Impossible that People In Cali will get anything more than an xrays worth of Rads from this event.

The Simple Reason is Chernobly was built with out a containment vessel, and With Massive amounts of Graphite around the core. That Graphite Burnt, and propelled smoke ash, and Radiation many many miles into the atmosphere. In Japan, Even a full Fledged Melt down, Will not have the Graphite Fire, that was responsible for causing the Radiation to spread so far from Chernobly.

Are you for your tax dollars going to pay for nuclear energy?

We should be more like France in our use of Nuclear power. It's not really a sign of how far Boehner has come, but how far the US has fallen.

Right now is the wrong time to be speaking of totally stopping Nuclear Power. I see the left is using the occasion of Japan to go back to the days of that idiotic movie 'China Syndrome' that put the brakes on Nuclear power plants in this nation.

Shit why not? We are already paying deadbeats just to live and they don't have to lift a finger.
