And this is just if all cars are EVs...but not trucks... 20% to 50% more electricity to be generated...

Folks!!! Before you read this firehose of information... REMEMBER... it has links that provide the sources for the calculations. All substantiated! Now before you make any comments... READ the facts.. then critique if there are mistakes done in calculations BUT refute that it will cost $5 trillion more to meet Biden's guarantees!

Based on 2019 data, the US would need to produce 20-50% more electricity in a year if all cars were EVs.

How much electricity would it take to power all cars if they were EVs?

In 2019, drivers across the US consumed roughly 3.4 billion barrels, or 142.8 billion gallons, of motor gasoline.
According to the EPA, every gallon of gasoline is equivalent to 33.7 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity.
Based on these metrics, an equivalent of approximately 4,800 billion kWh was used to fuel gasoline vehicles over that year.

Total electricity generated per year by the approximately 12,538 plants for total of 4,240,000,000,000 kWh.
An average of 338 million kWh per plant.
Electricity generation, capacity, and sales in the United States - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)).

So based on there are over 3,400 fossil fuel-fired power plants in the United States.
About 79% of the nation's energy comes from fossil fuels,

AND based on what Biden said:
"I guarantee We Are Going To Get Rid of Fossil Fuels” September 06, 2019, 5:49 PM

So folks if all cars are EVs... (remember no mention of trucks!!!) there will be:
1) a need for 20% to 50% MORE electricity or of 4.24 trillion kWh, at the lowest 20% we'll need from 800 billion kWh to 2.12 trillion kWh AND if Biden has his stupid way... "fossil fuels will be gone he guarantees it!"

2) The USA will need to build 3,400 nuclear power plants replacing "fossil fuels" and EVs..

3) 3.2 trillion kWh electricity to be replaced due to Biden's guarantee to "rid fossil fuels"
AND additional 800 billion kWh for EVs or 4.0 trillion kWh MORE electricity due to EVs and Biden's guarantee..

4) Average cost to build a nuclear electric power plant?
As of 2023, capital costs for nuclear power plants ranged between $8,475 and $13,925 U.S. dollars per kilowatt.

5) A standard 1 gigawatt nuclear plant produces approximately 8 billion kilowatt hours, each year.

6) With an additional 4 trillion kWh needed due to Biden's guarantee and EVs will mean 500 NEW nuclear power plants.

7) At an average cost of $10,000 per kilowatt to build 500 nuclear power plants a total of $4.566 trillion!

Remember this nearly $5 trillion is because of EV Cars (not trucks!) and Biden's guarantee to rid fossil fuels!

Who will pay this $5 trillion????

YOU and I will eventually!

$5 trillion so that all the most evil governments in the world lose their ability to control U.S. foreign and domestic policy? Sounds like a bargain.

Don’t expect these dolts to answer this. None of them ever think ahead for one minute. They will all just scream “sOLaR!” as if that will magically make the amount of electricity needed.

Then there is the lithium and cobalt problem. There isn’t enough lithium to make EV cars for every American. Plus EV batteries only last 8 years and need to be replaced.

These dolts don’t run any business or work in these fields, so they know nothing about the logistics it would require. They just hear the bobbleheads on TV tell them EV cars are good and they just believe it without question.

Shitlibs don't do 4th grade math.

Cool, bro. More incentive to create new lithium mines while we disentangle ourselves from the religious madness of the middle east

Good luck. The biggest mines are in Australia, South America, and Africa. The US doesn’t have shit. We have a few known deposits of lithium but it would completely wreck the environment if we mined it and 80% of those are located on or near Indian reservations. It also takes a large amount of water to do mining, and would rob local farmers of their water. So you want to destroy the Indian reservations and farmers to make your precious EV car battery?

I would pay pretty much any price for religious lunacy to lose its control over the world

China is opening up 21 nuclear plants over the next decade.

Cult fucks are dipshits. Their fantasy land with all power being generated via wind and solar IS NOT FEASIBLE AT THIS TIME.

NO ONE CAN US THROUGH THE MATH BECAUSE IT DOES NOT WORK.

Democrats raping the planet for their EV nonsense. Not surprising, the Dem cities obliterated the environment they have a history of this.

If not butchering people over fairy tales written by primitive ancient humans is better, then you're right
Well it’s nice to hear a lefty like you admit Muslims are primitive and thus shouldn’t be allowed in Western Civilization, I agree with that sentiment.

Which is why I prefer the idea of keeping Muslims in the Middle East and let them kill themselves, while we buy up their cheap oil.

Lusting for blood is a hallmark of religious fundamentalism, so I'm not surprised to read your support for it.

It's not rational for anyone to think that EV's are going to replace gas/diesel cars and trucks 1 for 1.

That's not suggesting that most gas/diesel vehicles won't be eliminated as required.

Think mass transit, less travelling required, and other means that are already replacing gas cars. (electric bikes and pedal power as an example)

Stop the crackpot denialism!

Lusting for blood is a hallmark of religious fundamentalism, so I'm not surprised to read your support for it.
If that was true then atheist fundamentalism wouldn’t spill blood, but we all know that is 100% false. Your ”non religious” heroes like Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot, were biggest murderers on the planet.

Mao came close but all 3 combined are nothing compared to the multiple millennia of past and ongoing genocides performed in the name of an imaginary friend or friends
