Bill Clinton throws Obama under the bus on raising TAXES on the wealthy

Former President Bill Clinton says now is not the time to hike taxes.

“I personally don’t believe we ought to be raising taxes or cutting spending, either one, until we get this economy off the ground,” Clinton told Newsmax in an interview Tuesday. “This has been a dead flat economy.”

Clinton, who is hosting the Clinton Global Initiative’s annual meeting in New York City this week, said that until the country’s debt is reduced, he doesn’t believe cutting or raising taxes or boosting spending are the solution to bringing the country to a full employment economy.

“If we cut government spending, which I normally would be very inclined to do when the deficit’s this big, with interest rates already near zero, you can’t get the benefits out of it,” Clinton said. “So what I’d like to see them do is come up with a bipartisan approach, starting with the payroll tax cuts because they have the biggest return.”

This coming from Bill Clinton who reigned over the fastest growing economy of the 20th century has got to be a HUGE blow to Obama's new campaign strategy of wealth redistribution-class warfare campaign rhetoric or raising taxes on 227,000 Americans out of 311 MILLION Americans that make 1 million or over per year.

Bill Clinton states-NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO RAISE ANYONE'S TAXES. And for good reason--the wealthy in this country are responsible for 37% of the spending in this country. If you raise taxes on this crowd--they won't have it to spread around in the private sector.

Correct. With the left's attack on producers, it is in fact the working class and the poor who will be poorer. We are smart, we will always have more. By punishing us (I own two businesses), we hire less, fire faster and work people harder. You can hate us all you want tootsie, but your attacks harm those you set out to "protect." That is reality, like it or not.

My operations manager laughed to me just today about how when someone in her organization asked her a question, in her answer she told her that kaz is all about money. I pointed out that despite the economy and our competitors, we were actually improving profits and our productive workers have job security and are getting raises. Much to your chagrin, she agreed.

First, my name's not tootsie.

Second, you lie like a rug.

Do I, sweetie? Actually you made me sad. My real life is greater then your imagination. So are you thinking that only nobodies are willing to post on this board? Didn't you really just insult yourself more then me?

If your life were all that great, you wouldn't be spending your time on message boards. You aren't the first braggart I have met on forums like this. And in the final analysis, I have ALWAYS done better they they have financially! LMAO.

Truth be know, you probably have some little hole in the wall place where you pay minimum wage to a bunch of illegal aliens who disembowel chickens all day. And you, no doubt, stink up the neighborhood!

And I'm not your sweetie.

What exactly did I "brag" about?

And seriously, I don't get the message board comment. So you are only on message boards because your life sucks and you're a loser and you have nothing else to do? I like arguing politics. I'd like it better if anyone paid attention to the reality of what politicians are doing to us, but they don't. I also find message boards a great diversion. But if you think it's a waste of time and anyone with something real to do wouldn't be here, the better question is why are you here? Seriously?

That would make it easy to answer the question then, wouldn't it? I want to know what you consider "bragging" and so I shouldn't say it.

You can't even figure out what 'bragging' is, but you want me to believe you are a wealthy factory owner. LOL. Thanks for the laugh. Now, I am going to log off and go watch the remaining episodes of Season 3 of True Blood. More entertaining than you!

I never said "factory." I said two businesses. One is a restaurant, the other is a design business myself. My wife manages the restaurant, I do her back office work and run the design biz, she doesn't help me.

I figured that was what you were referring to, but I wanted you to say it. So are you saying that if you owned two businesses, you wouldn't say that? I thought I made a pretty direct link as to why I was saying it in responding to your post. So explain, when you said the rich won't be poor and I agreed with you and told you why, which part should I have not said?

So Clinton essentially comes out for doing nothing to reduce the deficit AND weakening the revenue stream to Social Security and Medicare,

and the Right applauds this?

Why, exactly?

No... the right applauds Clinton's acknowledgment that raising taxes in a near depression is retarded.

And enough with the "revenue stream" shit... how about addressing the "spending stream"... then we'll talk about raising my taxes.

I love the libs... they commit us to a gazillion $$ in social spending and then throw their hands up and say we must increase "revenue streams". Then they get that, then they up the ante again and clamor for more "revenue streams".

Clinton cutting spending now was a bad idea too. I guess your brain cells were exhausted before you got to that part.

Voters on the Left think for themselves, they aren't in lockstep, never wavering from the party line like right wingnuts. Clinton was a great president, what works in his mind though may not be enough for today's tough economy.

Love Clinton tho, he's smart and can really communicate. Obama has those qualities as well.

I've seen a lot of takoffs on kaz, but that's a new one, well done.

You said that the rich aren't going to be poor. I said I agree with you, you are correct. We are what we are because whatever the rules are, we will learn them better then anyone else, work harder and be smarter about them. The Left in this country work harder and harder to "level the playing field." They are willing to pay any price, including poverty for all, as they are doing, to get that equality.

We pay the price, but we don't get the equality because you can keep moving money from high achievers to low achievers you can't move intelligence, work ethic or ability. So whatever the rules are, we will have the most. There are two choices:

1) We can have the evil rich bastards who drive the economy focus on achievement. The poor will have more money then they have, but less compared to the rich. As Winston Churchill said, the inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal distribution of blessings, the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal distribution of misery.

2) We can have the evil rich bastards gaming the stupid rules that socialist countries create. The economy slows, but we still have more because we are going to game the system better then the poor and the poor will be poorer because no one's focusing on production. As Margaret Thatcher said, the trouble with socialism is eventually you run out of other people's money to spend. By not producing, we are all poor, but relatively the "rich" have more then the poor.

The Democratic party is in the port looting the fishing boats as they come in. Every time the boats come in, they take more of the fish justifying it with that the fishermen have more fish and it's not fair. Eventually they get to where the fishermen have no more fish then the people who did nothing in the town. The Democrats will tell you they will still put their effort into fishing more to get more fish. No, they will put their efforts into figuring out how to keep more of their fish. They will eat them before they come into port, they will hide them. In Spain, they created ports to avoid the taxes as ships came into the harbor. None of those things produce more fish for the town as a whole, they produce less. But the fishermen get to keep more of the fish they caught, so that's how they spend their time.

We are following the course of the Spanish empire. If you want to read a great book on the subject, I recommend Charles Adams, "For Good and Evil: The Impact of Taxes on the Course of Civilization"
