Which decade(s) had the best music ? You can vote for moren one The poll includes all decades that had recorded music cause, to be fair, there was great music that came outta each of em
For me, I'd have to say the 60's were the greatest decade for music... great Top 40's tunes in the early and mid-60's... the British Invasion in the mid-60's... the Bay Area music scene in the late 60's... rock festivals... Hendrix... Joplin... Zep... second-best decade is a toss-up between the 70's and 80's... with the 70's holding a slight edge... underground FM radio... Pink Floyd... more Zep... many other "lesser" but still great recording artists... the 80's were great too... awesome arena concerts... Talking Heads... The Cars... Robert Palmer... Tina Turner... many others...
meh... why does disco get such a bad rap... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yq0KMvYZeic]Pulp Fiction (Jungle Boogie) - YouTube[/ame]
I found the '70's held more than a slight edge but otherwise I'm pretty much with you on your post bill.
Disco's only purpose is nostalgia. As a past-time it's great. Anyone that lived through it knows better than to give it any more credit than that. It was excruciating to come down from being high on the Doors, Stones, Dylan, Hendrix, et.al only to have your ear drums bleed from the high-pitched railings of groups like the Bee-Gees. (posting their video proves my point, not yours)

Pink Floyd came out in the 60's (before zeppelin), they just weren't big yet in the US (elsewhere in the world they were). But for me it's the 70s: With Led Zeppelin (69) and Black Sabbath (70) coming out it's the best way to start a decade musically speaking.
It's not that PF wasn't big in the US in the 60's... it's simply that they weren't awesome until their release in the early 70's of what I call The Big Three... Meddle... Obscured By Clouds... Dark Side Of The Moon...
