Almost every classroom had several pull-down maps behind the teacher. The world map was the one presented the most. So 'globalism' was being tacitly suggested from the earliest grades. Even our current events 'Weekly Reader' had more international articles than domestic ones.

History classrooms still have posters of regions and the entire world on the walls. Not many pull-down maps anymore. The teacher can just pull up a map on the smartboard in two seconds.
