Now, considering how much they were paid relatively speaking, the size of the company and it's impact, I believe at the very least an investigation in the background of the key players there is warranted.

Canada is a centralized government with it's fingers in everyones business and the ability to exploit outside their country. Just look at the Uranium One National Security threat that had it's start out of Canada. You can never assume such an operation is just a private business to private business transaction. Good on the British for investigating. America seems to be far too complacent in naming Canada and the four police agencies meant to protect from such things as Russian purchases of Canadian uranium companies.

Being out of B.C this particular case would be relegated to most likely only the RCMP and/or CSIS. Or, ironically since this is popular lately and Canada is far too busy being incompetent and chasing rabbits, it could be Russian influencing this company to support their efforts.

When asked why so much British political money went to a small Canadian company, he said that "we are good at what we do. Most of the money we received went to effective digital advertising campaigns on Google and Facebook."

Early this year, another one of the AggregateIQ's co-founders told The Globe that he got involved with B.C. Liberal Party politics before starting the company in 2013.

"Coming from the technology and business world, I saw that the way campaigns were being run was wildly inefficient," Zack Massingham said.
