<--- Pic is not me
I posted this exact same letter yesterday to little reply. (so, probably no need to combine post) (?)
http://www.usmessageboard.com/immig...53-az-utility-board-member-on-la-boycott.html
I included the entire (short) letter and a link to Hot Air where I first heard of it. For what it's worth there are a few facts there that settle or correct some of the above post.
In short, one can gather that Arizona will not cut off LA power and likely not even "encourage Arizona utilities to renegotiate your power agreements so Los Angeles no longer receives any power from Arizona-based generation". This was not an escalation of an economic battle (that L.A. started btw) but a public bitch slap of California.
As to Colorado cutting off water to AZ I guess it's possible but no one is talking about it as far as I know and AZ does control some waters going into CA too fwiw.
As to rolling blackouts, they already have them and will have more in the summer reguardless of what the Arizona Corporation Commission does.
As to the size of the economy in Cali, it's worth noting they are pretty much backrupt.
My view is no one "wins" this kind of fight, and if it's not already, it should be illegal for States and cities to "boycott" (smacks more of embargo to my thinking) other American cities and States. That goes for LA, CA and AZ.
Private individuals can boycott whoever the hell they want including Arizona Iced Tea which is made, I think, in New York, lol.
