Are corporations more powerful than government

Dude--there is NO difference between our government and "our" corporations. Don't strain your brain on this one. And they BOTH are complicit in killing others.

Clearly not since the government has now proven that it can take over any industry that it wants.

They will just convert them into another one that is more beneficial to them.

True, but in the end the government is the ruling party in that compact.

you mean the party that the corporations paid to elect ?

Aaah ... see, the government is still more powerful, just because it is being manipulated by a few corporations doesn't make it less, the fact that it CAN be manipulated to cut out competition shows that there is too much power in the government, not the reverse. Take the power from the government and the corporations manipulating it lose their power to. Take the power from just the corporations and they will find another way to manipulate the ruling body.

as long as no one buys the fact that this represents any sort of transfer of power from the corps/gov to the people we're all on the same page.

As I say, take away the regulations and the power goes back to the people because it leaves nothing in the government that the few major corporations with poor quality, over priced, American made garbage to keep pushing out the smaller and higher quality, better priced products out of business.

Well, it is a transfer of power from people who work under the corporate veil known as "gubmint" to the people who work under the corporate veil of "corporation".

Both are collectivized non-corporeal legal fictions, and handy strawmen for the polarized mind.

If any of that is true, the government owns and regulates those companies ... so who is really still in power?

Let's not forget which entity consecrates corporate charters into law, extends limited liabilities from lawsuits to corporations, alternately extends and retracts various and sundry tax breaks and regulations, operates huge protection rackets like the FDA which squeeze out all but the biggest corporations from the game....The list goes on and on.

Like I said in my first offering on the topic...Corporations are merely the capos, it's big gubmint that is Don Vito.

Hey, us liberals are all for joining you in ending these things.

But first join us.

But all you are going to do is distract us with this bullshit so you can avoid going after the bankers.

I'll give you an example. In Michigan, the Dems want to allow people to sue phara companies when their products harm us. Michigan is the only state that has this law. We did it to attract the companies.

So what did the GOP say when we tried to end this law that protects the phara's? They said this is for the lawyer lobbyists who want to sue the drug companies.

They are masters at spin. And you friend, have proved my point. You can argue anything. You can even argue a shit sandwich tastes good I bet.

Clearly not since the government has now proven that it can take over any industry that it wants.

It took over the auto industry so it could break the unions and continue to send jobs overseas.

And it took over because $30 billion was too much money.

But $750 billion wasn't too much so they kept the banks private?

And now we find out the bankers gave THE BANKERS $2 trillion???

Are you corporate defenders hearing yourselves?

Except that lib knuckleheads like you see the corporation known as "District of Columbia" as our savior, when they're the ones who are the source of all the crap you keep winin'-n-cryin' about.

Corporate defender? I would have given all the people you listed exactly $0 were it left up to me. Let the market decide who wins and loses, not the government.

Wow! Take the power away from the government and you think the corporations lose power?

I bet you anything you're one of those nuts that think we didn't deregulate enough.

You are why we can't get anywhere. We'll spend all our time arguing with idiots like you for so long, we'll forget what we were arguing about.

Let me remind you, the private bankers gave themselves $2 trillion fucking dollars and it didn't have to go thru Congress.

Ron Paul wants to do something about it. Join him.
