This is one of the dumbest suits I've heard of in awhile...

Passengers suing Alaska Airlines over fuselage hole

SEATTLE - Six passengers who were on an Alaska Airlines plane that lost cabin pressure are suing the airline and the baggage handling contractor, Menzies Aviation.
The December 26th incident was caused by a hole poked in the fuselage by a baggage ramp.

The flight to Burbank, California, made an emergency dive and landed safely in Seattle.

An airline worker employed by Menzies Aviation later admitted he had accidentally poked the hole and failed to alert anyone. He was suspended.

A New York law firm, Kreindler and Kreindler, says the lawsuit will be filed in Los Angeles Superior Court. A copy of the suit provided to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer says Alaska Airlines and Menzies were negligent.

According to the lawsuit, the defendants "continue to suffer physical pain, emotional stress, loss of enjoyable life and other permanent compensable injuries all with resulting damages.”

It goes on to say, "Among other things, the Alaska defendants knew, or should have known, that the Menzies defendants were not carefully and safely handling their aviation ground support and services responsibilities yet continued to hire and pay Menzies to perform those services.”

Alaska hired Menzies Aviation after firing nearly 500 unionized baggage handlers in May.

Menzies is now conducting a 90-day review of its Alaska operations at Sea-Tac with the help of its safety people from around the world.
