Consider what it really means when SOCIAL SECURITY benefits can be changed.
Social Security was SOCIAL CONTRACT was it not?
People paid into that CONTRACT and now when its time for some of us to reap the benefits of the contract, the payout is changing.
Nice, huh?
I get it...You're being a brain dead imbecile on purpose!I agree, Dude, that it imitates many private businesses that handle investors' monies.

That's what you get for relying on the government.
When will the federal gubmint go out of business for such mismanagement and when will the mismanagers be held to account?Consider what it really means when SOCIAL SECURITY benefits can be changed.

ohhhh, i would not leave the private sector out of this Taz....many private employers promised retirement benefits to their employees that have now gone belly up from mismanaging their funds.....
Military retirement is no more a 'social program' than your 401K or retirement fund is....He's an idiot. SS is not welfare, it is a return of money taken out of your paycheck. You are aware that Ravi and several other liberals on this board believe that not only Social Security is welfare but that military retirement pay is also?
Really? I would love to hear them comment on that.
And military retirement pay is a social program...if RetardedSargent wants to pretend a social program is welfare...well, he is retarded.
Right...Just stop paying into FICA because nobody can force you to pay in and see what happens next.
Then, set up and run a "trust fund" using the model for Socialist Insecurity and see how long you can keep the SEC out off your ass.
Go ahead...I dare ya.

At least Jeff Skilling, Ken Lay and Bernie Madoff went to jail.
When is any congrssweaasel who has mismanaged the OASI fund going to be bunking with Bernie Madoff? When will the federal gubmint go out of business for such mismanagement and when will the mismanagers be held to account?ohhhh, i would not leave the private sector out of this Taz....many private employers promised retirement benefits to their employees that have now gone belly up from mismanaging their funds.....

none of those guys went to jail for mismanaging the company's retirement funds? so, i'm not certain on how they relate?
Military retirement is no more a 'social program' than your 401K or retirement fund is....
Just because you want it to be so that you can take a crack at vets who EARNED all of their benefits, does not make it so bitch

no, ddave. the government takes money through tax and pays it to veterans. it pays out to cripples, moms and their kids, and old folks. it pays for criminal's food and shelter in prison.
these are all social entitlements. some are more worthy than others by my estimate; some are 'earned', but it doesn't change the way they work, who they are managed by and how they are funded.
a 401k is an investment fund that is privately managed. you earn the money and you and your employer agree to pay it into the fund.
Bottom line: Social Servies is not Welfare and neither is Veterans Pensions. Those of you who argue they are should be thankful that SSI in there, when you mental impairment is eventually discovered.

There are social services that are welfare: food stamps, Section 8, Medicaid.
401 K and retirement funds are also social programs, bitch.Military retirement is no more a 'social program' than your 401K or retirement fund is....He's an idiot. SS is not welfare, it is a return of money taken out of your paycheck.Really? I would love to hear them comment on that.
