NEW YORK, Feb 23 (Reuters) - US home prices unexpectedly slipped in December but the annual rate of decline slowed, reinforcing the housing market's rocky road to recovery, Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller indexes showed on Tuesday.

The housing market has been collapsing for three years now and all of a sudden it is unexpected. I live in San Diego. I see housing prices fall every day. It makes a weird sound when it happens, almost like homeowners groaning and groaning and groaning.
