A large study of parents of children who identify as transgender has uncovered worryingly large numbers who complain of 'pressure' to transition their children, even though they felt it was not in the child's best interests.

The survey of 1,655 parents, published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, found that more than half of the parents who were referred to gender therapists said they felt directed to put their kids on medical treatments or change their wardrobe.

The paper, by Northwestern University psychology professor Michael Bailey, comes amid concerns over rising numbers of young people identifying as trans and non-binary, and as Republicans push for bans on trans medical treatments for minors.

It also follows the damning testimony of a former employee of a Missouri youth gender clinic, where doctors allegedly told parents that they could either have a transgender child — or one that would commit suicide.

I can't imagine a parent being pressured into turning their kid into a tranny. Being pressured is not an excuse, and if you were then you're not fit to be a parent. A real parent will stand up to anything that's harmful to your children and fight it.

Sure, no doctor is going to be able to pick a random set of parents and convince them to mutilate and poison their child to make them resemble the opposite sex.

But parents who take their children to "gender specialists" in the first place are self-selecting as gullible and ready to try anything to help their child.

That's pretty powerful to have a medical doctor tell you that if you don't spend all this money on the surgeries and the hormones, your child will commit suicide.

All of that is aassuming that a parent who has the best interest of their child in mind. That's not always a valid assumption. Look at all the pageant stage moms and other parents of show biz kids. The same kind of Fame whores are the ones that are pushing their own kids to be transgender. A lot of this is Munchausen by proxy or the parent living out their own transgender feelings through their child.

Sadly, many parents are abusive. The transgenderization of children movement has given them away to be abusive with medical excuses.

That's why we can't just say oh it's between the doctor and the parrot and the child. The child is a child and cannot make decisions like that. The doctor is highly motivated by the huge amounts of cash available since Obamacare started requiring all insurance plans to cover this nonsense. The correlation between that and the rise in "transgender children" is no coincidence.

The overwhelming majority of parents have the best interests of their children in mind. For those that don't and for the gullible ones, we need laws to protect children.
