Everywhere needed
Seventy five years ago people in America walked the streets at night in major cities with few concerns...and left doors open all night.

Shoplifting was a minor problem and violence against Law Enforcement was nearly unheard of.

It was a friendlier time when you were more likely to be helped by your fellow American than hurt by them.

Today...we live in a totally different place. Danger is lurking everywhere. Theft and crime run rampant. Police are shot and killed for fun. The elderly are victimized as quickly as anyone else.....
Brazen Thief Steals Purse From Woman, 82, on Scooter at California Supermarket

Young people text and drive killing thousands each year......People cheat the system rampantly....

The ONE caveat, and an important one, is that Civil Rights are more equally spread among all Americans.
But at what cost? Did we trade a safe society for one that has everyone closer to equal?
Surely VERY few people actually would still support slavery and the majority are pleased with equality for all.
But again, at what price?

So, what exactly has changed?

The murder rate in the 1930s and 40s was significantly higher than it is now.

I don't know where you're getting your data from, it's completely false.

75 years ago in big cities people got killed walking the streets at night, just like they do now...

75 years ago, we were free, safe, and (relative the the world) prosperous. Then the dark ages came with the "Civil Rights movement". Crime skyrocketed. The government started coercing people to discriminate (and calling it freedom) while being engaged in a slander campaign against white people. Our freedoms, safety, and middle-class started evaporating.

75 years ago the world was ramping up to the worse conflict in history.

You can lock your doors all you want, you are only locking out your friends. We have often, by accident, left our doors wide open, no problem.

The cities were never completely safe, we who lived in the suburbs were always wary of the city.

the world and the US ain't that bad, except for some problem places, such as the ME.

They do eat way too much lobster there...

Must have sucked having that white male AA taken from you partially?

Sometimes I long for the past.....a long gone past....

Right or wrong....it's just the vintage thing in me!:dunno:

75 years ago, Blacks were making nice economic gains from the savages their ancestors were in Africa. 75 years ago, black communities were relatively safe. 75 years ago, blacks were far more free than they are today. Sure, no one was admitting them into Harvard with low SAT scores.... But, no one was doing that for whites, either.

What changed? The welfare state tore families apart. You now have single teenage girls raising children without any adult role models. You have young males whose only role models are criminals.

That is what changed.

And democrat policies about crime changed as well......letting repeat offenders back on the streets over and over again just reinforces making those young males raised by teen mothers into sociopaths.

I think the biggest single change for the worse was when drug availability really got bad in the mid 60's. There was always drugs, but on a much smaller scale, and usually just in the bad areas.

"So, what exactly has changed?"

The philosophy of racism by whites is coming home to roost like some of the founders predicted.
. So what you are saying in effect is that this is the end result of us helping to end slavery, and racism as much as we possibly could through great sacrifice, and us actually making war with our own people to get it done, but to our regret now ?? So now we are seeing a get back instead of progress moving forward to put it all behind us now ?? Figures !! How foolish should we feel about now ??

75 years ago whites were getting jobs over more qualified Blacks. I know you miss those days. By now you would be CEO instead of head fry cook.

I don't believe that. Most whites will hire the person who'll make them the most money, regardless of race. Including 75 years ago. But, now, the government forces companies to hire blacks over more qualified whites.

If libtards lie about racism today, why should I believe what they say about racism 75 years ago?

. More qualified ?? Now how would you know this ?? The fact that blacks were held back under slavery, had caused them to lack seriously in education and training for years afterwards. Your statement is false because until a person is educated, and properly trained, then you can't say that they were more qualified until that occurs or is proven.

What you believe is of zero interest to me.

Whites fought for their AA with a savage bloodthirst. Then they whined for years like bitches until AA for non whites was dismantled.
