And their bodies were later exhumed from a grave in Saipan and returned to the states to a place unknown.

Why in the hell would the US government keep this a secret?

Amelia Earhart 'was executed by the Japanese': New 'witness' account claims aviation pioneer was held in Saipan before being killed - and the US military collected her body and covered it up

Bill Sablan of Guam said his uncle Tun worked at a Japanese prison in late '30s

Tun said 2 American pilots - 1 female - were interned there after being rescued

That fits a theory that Earhart and her navigator were kept on Saipan island

Tun said the Japanese, fearing an international incident, had the pair executed

And the US military retrieved the remains after World War II, but kept quiet

Others who were on Saipan at the time have related the arrival of the pilot

It's just a theory.
You mean a theory like a conspiracy theory. I’m kind of surprised you didn’t move the thread.

Sometimes conspiracy theories are true.

I suppose technically it's a conspiracy theory, but unlike most conspiracy theories this has some possible credibility to it.

Why the hell do you believe this?

Why not?

Makes a lot of sense and I've read four more similar posts from other sources.

It was on the internet, so it MUST be true!

It's a compelling theory but based on heresay rather than evidence. Chances are they crashed in the sea and were killed and the wreckage was never found. (Trump had nothing to do with it).

You go with the Daily Mail- I will go with National Geographic

Amelia Earhart 'Lost Photograph' Discredited

their last radio transmissions point that they were lost/disoriented/etc near Howland Island= crashed=dead=simple
these islands are very small compared to the Pacific Ocean...no GPS back then....just a slight course error/wind direction/etc and you can totally miss an island by a lot --especially on a long flight
there are no landmarks over the ocean
...they could've been ''close'', but there are many incidents of aircraft getting lost from Europe to England in WW2....they think they are somewhere, where they are not

this DM story is ridiculous
