Amazon threatens to move jobs out of Seattle over new tax

Lefty liberals seem to always bite the hand that feeds them.

They just can't help it. ..... :cuckoo: ....

Really, the Southern Jobs have come about due to subsidies that liberals taxes fund. Keep laughing because we know you love that kind of socialism! :10:

But, Amazon is not leaving Seattle.

Yep. Plus, the high cost of living in Seattle means fewer and fewer workers can afford to live there and work for sweatshop wages, which means they have to move somewhere else, where the labor pool is larger, and ask for subsidies to boot. The entire West Coast is experiencing that effect, having to subsidize criminal illegal immigration as a substitute. That's the Left's job, carrying water for criminal illegal aliens and keeping the cheap labor flowing in. Of course they don't tell their puppets that's what going on; they like to be told all all about how they're 'Killing Whitey N Stuff', as if that's who takes such crap jobs. lol they're useful idiots.

Every liberal elitist stronghold around this country become too expensive to live in. The people who liberals claim they want to help, are the first ones chased away because they cannot afford to stay.

Getting rid of Amazon will make Seattle a better place to live. Most amazon employees can't afford to live in Seattle anyway, so nobody cares if they leave. This is just a fake outrage piece, aimed at morons.

Obviously being unemployed is better

Actually it is. What's the advantage to anybody else when some scumbags pay far less than the cost of living? It only prolongs the crash, and requires subsidies for the business itself.

You idiot that company is subsidizing the US welfare program not the other way around

As well they should. Any company affected by the new tax would be foolish to stay.

Yup. If I were a company and they sprang these new taxes on me I'd be looking for a city with a friendlier outlook toward business.

I would so love to see Amazon thumb their nose at Seattle and do this !

Warning issued after council votes for corporate wealth tax to help tackle city’s housing crisis

Amazon has threatened to move jobs out of its hometown of Seattle after the city council introduced a new tax to try to address the homelessness crisis.

The world’s second-biggest company has warned that the “hostile” tax, which will charge firms $275 per worker a year to fund homelessness outreach services and affordable housing, “forces us to question our growth here”.

Amazon, which is Seattle’s biggest private sector employer with more than 40,000 staff in the city, had halted construction work on a 17-storey office tower in protest against the tax.

Pressure from Amazon and other big employers, including Starbucks and Expedia, had forced councillors to reduce the tax from an initial proposal of $500 per worker. The tax will only effect companies making revenue of more than $20m-a-year
LOL

Amazon just bought a huge wear-house where I live in Wyoming.. It has airport, rail and major shipping access.... Its currently being upgraded and modernized.... Thanks for the Jobs! Liberal morons...

How so? ..... :dunno:

Fewer low income people hanging around, using govt. services, living on the streets, adding to traffic jams, pollutiion, strains on infrastructure, etc. What every 'libertarian' and right winger wants.

I can see why the local sado-masochists and sociopaths will miss them , though.

The average salary for an Amazon employee ranges from $59,000 to $145,000, according to one website.

Yep, not having a job and living off of breadcrumbs as handouts from the elite is so much better

I checked to and they seem to pay their employees well.

Amazon is a power house of a company and Seattle is only slapping itself in the face if Amazon decides to leave for friendlier climes.

Hope the Govt. in Seattle enjoys those new taxes. LOL

Funny, that the South fully subsidizes their jobs and has to look to other states to fill those position because the local bumpkins don't have the skills in the first place. It's a bit because recruiting talent to move to less desirable, lackluster locations is a bitch in itself.

The Right To Work bullshit is dragging down America and forcing low wages. That's a topic that no one wants to touch. :113:

Agree on 'right to work', as for Texas half the population is descended from illegal aliens, they don't give a crap about unions or anything else, especially laws, and you faux 'liberals' love them as much as the U.S. Chamber Of Commerce and 'Libertarians' do, so quit pretending you have some sort of moral ground to stand on. As for 'education in the South' it's no worse than most urban northern schools, despite all the lying done by yankees on how 'smart they are n stuff'; most of you are dumber than dirt.

What Amazon pays is bread crumbs. A distinction without a difference. Wages are just supposed to be voluntary handouts, according to right wing ideology. Bosses are only supposed to pay what they feel like paying, right?

I agree. It's much better for Amazon's employees to be unemployed parasites leaching off of the labors of others than having a job.

They're claiming it's 'about taxes', but they're leaving because there is almost nobody who can afford to work for them living there now, and they don't want to raise wages to the local market levels. All these companies are entitled to cheap labor, including slave labor, according to 'pro-business' ideology. If they can't find any, it's because of 'commies n stuff', or everybody is just lazy and ungrateful', or whatever other stupid excuse they can dream up and the Wall Street Journal and Rush Limbaugh will repeat seriously, with straight faces.
