The idea that climate alarmism can be the foundation for radical economic change has a long history.

The following quotations by prominent leftists provide further support for these facts.
· “The common enemy of humanity is man. In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome. The real enemy then, is humanity itself.”

– Club of Rome, “The First Global Revolution”, by Alexander King and Bertrand Schneider, 1991

· “…one has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. Instead, climate change policy is about how we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth…”

– IPCC official Ottmar Edenhofer, speaking in November 2010

· “We need to get some broad based support, to capture the public’s imagination… So we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements and make little mention of any doubts… Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest.”

– Prof. Stephen Schneider, Stanford Professor of Climatology, in the journal “Discover”

· “A massive campaign must be launched to de-develop the United States. De-development means bringing our economic system into line with the realities of ecology and the world resource situation.”
“Giving society cheap, abundant energy would be the equivalent of giving an idiot child a machine gun.”
– Dr. Paul Ehrlich, Anne Ehrlich, and Dr. John Holdren,
Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment, 1970

· “The threat of environmental crisis will be the international disaster key to unlock the New World Order.”

– former Soviet Union President Mikhail Gorbachev, 1996

· “Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn’t it our responsibility to bring that about?”

– Maurice Strong, founder of the UN Environment Programme, Rio Climate Summit, 1992

· “The extinction of the human species may not only be inevitable but a good thing.”
– Christopher Manes, Earth First!
· “I suspect that eradicating small pox was wrong. It played an important part in balancing ecosystems.”
– John Davis, editor of Earth First! Journal

· “I must confess that I am tempted to ask for reincarnation as a particularly deadly virus.”
– Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, husband to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
Foreword to If I Were an Animal (1987) by Fleur Cowles ISBN 978068806150

· “A global warming treaty [Kyoto] must be implemented even if there is no scientific evidence to back the [enhanced] greenhouse effect.”

– U.S. Deputy Assistant of State Richard Benedick, Rio Climate Summit, 1992

· “No matter if the science of global warming is all phony… climate change provides the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world.

– Christine Stewart, former Canadian Minister of the Environment, Calgary Herald interview, 1988

· “We’ve got to ride this global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing in terms of economic and environmental policy.”

– Timothy Wirth, former U.S. undersecretary of state for global issues, Rio Climate Summit, 1992

· “The goal now is a socialist, redistributionist society, which is nature’s proper steward and society’s only hope.”

– David Brower, first Executive Director of the Sierra Club, founder of Friends of the Earth

Given the unnecessary deprivation in the world due to corrupt and oppressive governments, this quote is arguably the most chilling:

Giving society cheap, abundant energy would be the equivalent of giving an idiot child a machine gun. – Dr. Paul Ehrlich, Anne Ehrlich, and Dr. John Holdren

Godless monsters!

Ehrlich is dead. Rest in pieces. He may have been atheist and a celebrity. He was a old fart who tried to scare people with his population explosion or boogie bomb theory. This led to advocating killing fetuses and mass sterilizations. Today, we have too few people to support old people due in several countries due to low births and abortion, so we have the anti-boogie bomb situation. There will be forced killings of old people next. He was also for a socialist state and state atheism. Dems are for oppressive governments.

There’s a lot of disagreement on climate studies. Anyone that says it is settled science knows little about science. This one is kind of funny.

Here are a couple others.

There is plenty of disagreement to be found with a little digging. For myself, it might be warming now; so what? The earth has cooled and warmed dramatically over millennia before mankind was even a twinkle in Adam’s eye or an itch between Eve’s big toes. There also appears to have been little correlation with CO2 levels either when this happened. BUT, even if there were, correlation DOES NOT equal causation so without experimental verification, this whole thing about man made global warming is a hypothesis with no scientific proof. I’m still waiting for a controlled experiment on a planetary climate system. Personally I think it is an excuse by power players to manipulate billions of dollars in the world economy.

Here’s a completely reasonable explanation based purely on planetary orbital peculiarities.

Milankovitch cycles - Wikipedia

Milankovitch cycles describe the collective effects of changes in the Earth's movements on its climateover thousands of years. The term is named for Serbian geophysicist and astronomer Milutin Milanković. In the 1920s, he hypothesized that variations in eccentricity, axial tilt, and precession of the Earth's orbit resulted in cyclical variation in the solar radiation reaching the Earth, and that this orbital forcing strongly influenced climatic patterns on Earth.”

95% of climate models after 20 years are in error, failing to accurately predict temperature increases.

This seems like an interesting perspective on AGW that you don't hear in our Marxist Media.

@moderators

If you are not going to move these threads to the conspiracy section, you could at least provide an explanation as to why.
It's a Conspiracy website with the authors/several using the pen name "Tyler Durden" from "Fight Club".
What is that?
"Anonymous science"... "with pictures for idiots."

and "Pictures" do not disprove AGW and certainly not GW..
As to section, the IDIOT Jim Bowie has apparently Never seen the Environment section which is 95% this Topic
And where everyone Else posts it.

Ah, zero-hedge. It's an enclave of morons.

Yes it is.

See how silly that sounds?
Exactly my point. You sound like a fool. And you have presented no argument. So, "nuh uh" is a perfectly acceptable rebuttal to your vapid nonsense.

No, you are presenting no challenge to robust climate theories.

Well, you’re off to a fine start, name calling. Someone who disagrees with you is a fool. In an earlier repartee you said zero hedge was an enclave of morons. More name calling and basically nothing but an ad hominem attack.

You are the one who is presenting nothing and engaging in name calling and fallacies. Try refuting the information you deny. What is the problem with Milankovitch cycles as a competing or complimenting possibility for climate change?

who disagrees with you is a fool
No. Pay attention:

You are a fool because you are implying that the very scientists who discovered and taught your ignorant ass everything you will ever know about Milankovic cycles (which ain't much) are now laboring under the ignorance of their own discoveries and life's work.

This should embarrass you.
