aclu defending liberty once again! - sues gov over warrantless border laptop searches

Yep heaven forbid they actually catch any illegals or stop any drugs from coming across. My that would be horrible :)

We have this thing called a Constitution - perhaps you may have heard about it? Everyone is all for catching the bad guys, but darn it, the idea is to do it within Constitutional limitations.

Surely you can understand that?

Oh I do, I was just giving BLU a hard time :)

the searches actually stemmed from people coming back across the border with child porn. I am not sure laptop searches would catch drug dealers or people smuggling illegals.

its unconstitutional either way and caused huge issues in business that deal with client-privileged information, and forced them to store everything at the office and then access it through the VPN while out of the country instead of being able to work locally. A number of companies simply sent out blank laptops with people as they left and had them leave the laptops with branches in the foreign countries rather than fight the agents over it.

Chill man I agree with you, I was just giving you some shit, because it seems to me from all your posts that you do not want illegals perused at all. :)

Am I wrong?

not through say the arizona law way, but I have said a bunch of times though what I want is hefty fines (50k, 100k, or more per illegal) against businesses that hire illegals. Once businesses are too scared to hire illegals, then they will have no way to sustain a life here and will return home. There also should do checks at lowes, home depots, etc to ensure that the people lookign for work outside those stores are legal
