These forums and others have exploded since Michael Sam was drafted. All sorts of conversations about how wrong it is to allow him to play football.

But so little has been said about the criminal behavior of so many players in the NFL.

For example, the case of ray Rice. Casino security cams show him carrying his (then) fuiance like a sack of potatos into an elevator. She is unconcious when he drops her to the floor of the elevator. A petite woman, beaten unconcious by a 218lb athlete. And his punishment? A 2 game suspension and a fine of $58k (for someone who made $25 million over the last 2 years).

21 of 32 teams have employed a player with a domestic or sexual violence charge on their record. But we should be worried about a gay player??

The NFL has made it clear that what happens to women, at the hands of their players, doesn't matter.

We do not know what preceeded the knockout.

I realize I am venturing out on thin ice taking the opposite side of your debate but I dissagree that the NFL takes abuse of women lightly.

It is extremely rare but I have witnessed crazy situations where the best and quickest solution although regretable is to just knock the bitch out and get her out of a situation she put herself and him into by being drunk and way out of line.

Not EVERY situation can be handled with a call to 911.

A couple of years ago a guy that was clearly drugged out or drunk attacked me when I told him not to urinate in the parking lot and to leave the property.

He came at me swinging even though I was walking my big male pit bull at the time.

I didn't want to let my dog bite him and risk having my dog put down but I had to defend myself from his attack. I only had one free hand so I punched him a couple of times with my free right hand and knocked him out.

He came to in a few seconds and got up only to run away.

I'm not saying the two situations are the same but we don't know what the drunk fiance' did.

I suspect she did something very stupid and potentially dangerous to the safety of her and her football player boyfriend.

What if she punched the girlfriend of say a big gang dude member and he had half a dozen homeys were about to kill the both of them?

That kind of shit happens more than you would think.

She was on his side during the later statements. She in fact married him.

I don't know the whole story and neither do we.

His history showed no domestic abuse.

When the video was brought to light the NFL HAD to do SOMETHING.

There were a couple of cars full of people that stopped on Aurora street and where yelling at me as I was defending myself. They didn't see me being punched. All they saw was me punching a guy and him collapsing.

I yelled back that they should mind their own business.

Sometimes it really is not our business. Rarely is it OK to knock out a woman. It gets less rare if she is drunk. It gets even less rare if she admits she deserved it and marries the guy.

Ray Lewis may well be a murderer.

Chris Culliver charged with hit and run.

Aaron Hernandez indicted on murder.

Ausar Walcot charged with attempted murder.

And I can't think of the name of the former Tennessee Volunteer, and NFLer, who was in a drunk driving homicide.

A man being gay, is the least of their worries. If you get in a fight with an NFL player, you might want to kill them, before they kill you, because they can and will get away with it.

As soon as the NFL season begins no one will care about RayRay being a thug. In fact, they'll expect him to act like one to help their Fantasy Teams.

Violence against wimmen? The NFL has "Pink Month" and the wimmen will swoon and buy pink jerseys thinking it's some kind of "Girl Power".

Ray Rice got off easy. Smoke pot a four game suspension, knock a girl out, a two game suspension.

No reason to hit a women, absolutely no reason. If they kicked him out for a year or permanently, I wouldn't mind.

The NFL has mishandled this from the get go, if you hit a woman, there needs to be a tough suspension and the NFL needs to take a stand. As it is today, the NFL is doesn't give a damn about domestic abuse.

And then there are the fans.

Charges to be filed against Browns fan who urinated on Art Modell's grave - CBSSports.com

A Browns fan who urinated on the grave of former Browns and Ravens owner Art Modell, and then posted the video to YouTube, will be charged by the Baltimore County State's Attorney's Office.

“I want to commend the Baltimore County Police Department for doing outstanding work in identifying the suspect involved in this case,” Baltimore County State's Attorney Scott D. Shellenberger said in a statement. “Everyone who has buried a loved one has the right to believe that their final resting place will be treated with respect. Bringing charges against this individual should act as a deterrent to others and assure the rest of us that no matter who you are, indecencies will not be committed against your final resting place.”

More details via CBS Baltimore: "The unidentified Browns' fan can be seen ripping off a Ravens jersey to reveal a Browns jersey hidden underneath. He used a tube down his pants to urinate on Modell's grave and said to the camera, 'As far as [expletive] on your grave, I had no choice' -- referencing a phrase Modell made when he moved the team from Ohio to Maryland."

Modell moved the Browns to Baltimore following the 1995 season. The NFL awarded the Browns an expansion franchise in 1999, and the Ravens won their first Super Bowl in 2000 and again in 2012. Meanwhile, since returning to Cleveland, the Browns have gone 77-163 (an abysmal .321 winning percentage) in 15 seasons.

Ray Rice got a standing ovation in training camp yesterday. That's all you need to know about Baltimore fans.

Browns fans are the worst, with Eagles fans a close second. I recall them Browns fans throwing "D" batteries at Denver players during a playoff game a while back.

How do you equate domestic assault to peeing on a person's grave.

He's not a man if he beats a woman. That's it. He should be tried regardless of fame or money.

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way all the time here.

The reason why Ray Rice only got 2 games and not more is because he has no history of any off the field issues and the reason why smoking Marijuana is a 4 game suspension is because it is in the CBA which is agreed upon by the owners and players association. Also another why Rice may have gotten only 2 games is because domestic violence is a slippery slope. 9 times out of 10 in domestic violence cases the man is considered the suspect. Think about hearing the term domestic violence and what you automatically think of.......a man beating his significant other. Even if the man didn't do anything most times the police or general public will always side with the female and many females today use that to their advantage. In this case with Ray Rice both of them were hitting each other but at the end of the day he is the one made out to be the monster. In my opinion its not right for a man to hit a woman but if females feel they are tough enough to hit a man then they should be treated equally just like they would want in any other situation. I hate when people say a man should NEVER hit a woman because it gives females the thought that they can hit a man and not receive any repercussions. If she didn't want to be hit by him then she should have kept her hands to herself period and point blank.

What a bunch of BALONEY. Browns fans are GREAT fans. The DAWG POUND is legendary.

As for Modell, I would LOVE to piss on his grave. The bastard abandoned the best fans in football, and slithered off to the biggest CESSPOOL in the east, Baltimore.

I HATE the Ravens, except for Ozzie Newsome, who will always be a Cleveland Brown.

Browns fans are probably the most loyal fans in all of football, with the worst team. You could just put the football on the 50 yard-line and leave it there with no players and they'd still sell out that stadium. Browns fans deserve a break but it doesn't look like they will be getting one anytime soon.

But... But.... But.... The Browns have Johnnie Football !!!!

What they need now is a huge trophy case to display all the new Lombardis.

Manzell is just the latest "Great Quarterback Hope" for the Browns. Is he the "real deal"? Who knows? I thought Tim Couch was the real deal when he got drafted.

Since they returned to the NFL in 1999, the Browns have been a revolving door for general managers, coaches, quarterbacks, running backs, and mediocre draft choices.

But the great Cleveland Browns fans will always love their Browns, and will always come to the games.

What the Browns need are Marty Schottenheimer and Bernie Kosar, during their glory years.
