A history lesson for those who don't know the KKK

KKK was made up of our nations conservatives upset that the status quo was being upset

Own it

It was made up of people trying to either preserve slavery, kill all blacks in the country, or ship us all back to Africa. Anyone else aware of the meeting between Elijiah Muhammad and the Kkk in GA? Where they met to try to negotiate seperate nation's for black Americans and whites? I didn't go back to see if I have the right location of the meeting. But it happened.

It was after the war and it was made up of southern whites who were not happy with the reconstruction policies that allowed former slaves to vote and put Republicans in charge of most of the states. It was the old southern establishment trying to regain some the power it once had. To a large extent after 1877 when the Federal occupation troops left they were successful. In some places they were not but mostly they were.

Sounds familiar today doesn't it?

"Bill O’Reilly: But do you understand what the New York Times wants, and the far-left want? They want to break down the white, Christian, male power structure, which you’re a part, and so am I, and they want to bring in millions of foreign nationals to basically break down the structure that we have. In that regard, Pat Buchanan is right. So I say you’ve got to cap it with a number."

None of which excuses either of being stupidly unAmerican.

I was trying to bring up an interesting fact to discuss. Especially with all the secession talk going on... These two hated each other more than, well anybody. Do you think that Americans might just hate each other just as much if not more thanks to our politicians? I don't know, but the hate I'm seeing, from the liberal's gloating about electing a man who signed the NDAA and supports a UN international gun grabbing scheme, thinking because their states passed marijuana legalization theyve gained freedom while they lost much more to threats to secede and rumors of an inevitable civil war on mine.

There is very little hate on the left, far too much hate on the right, is the fact of the matter, LockeJaw.

No state is going to secede, and if there is a civil war the far right loonies are going to die to a man and woman, and their children will be raised by the victors.

Get being stupid.

Most people would prefer a legitimate resource......

Democrats wantin' to lynch Blacks that just won their freedom.

Now they just destroy them with Abortion and Welfare.

How are blacks being destroyed by welfare and abortion?

I guess this means, giving them the choices of welfare and abortion as more accessible.
But not giving them access to support, education and resources NOT to resort to these.

Like giving people access to guns, but not means of governing themselves responsibly to make sure the firearms are used for defense only and not abused for crime or fighting.

In general, as long as minorities/blacks/women even the green or peace vote "don't think" they can get their choices protected directly by law, but depend on a major party to defend these rights or freedoms for them, then their self-determination can be undermined by keeping them dependent on govt, and then dependent on party/elected leaders to "provide" these rights for them. When in fact, the programs, resources and support to break out of the cycle of dependence could and should be offered independent of govt.

Bottom line is the KKK are a conservative terrorist group bent on making America all white.
Bottom line is you are a moron. They're not a conservative group.. they're a radical group of racial seperatists and nationalists who despise America. They don't want to conserve America... That's why they're always talking about the evil DOI and Constitution and BOR. Youre a big mouthed buffoon and know nothing of what you speak of. They've taken on Nazi type socialist economic ideas and you can find videos of marches where they spell it out for your ignorant ass.

If greedy bootlicking Politicians across the nation hadn't bent over for Britain and accepted the Federal Reserve without questioning it's position and process, Texas could sucede and it wouldn't be an issue at all.

But As it stands, the CFR and FED have Texas and every single state in the Union by the gotdamn balls financially so secession is sure doom for ANY state that tries it.

Even Texans know we can't secede if we wanted to, But the rest of you ding-a-lings should at least acknowledge WHY Texas can't secede and stop being igornant.

It's a reason we're talking secession. Not to actually do it, but to wake up the rest of the nation still asleep at the gotdamn wheel.

Especially you Colorado citizens, you people just LOVE the NWO don'tchu?

Lol! You cannot call ANYONE stupid with an opening statement like "There is little hate on the left" I had a guy actually hack my FB account, call my mother and threaten her over not supporting Obama. Same day, a kid who lost his feeling from the waist down due to diabetes vowed that when he found out how much time he has in life, he was going to devote his remaining time on earth killing as many obamacare opponents before he dies. I reported both. If that happened to me, its happening to others as well.

Yes good point! I do believe people take cues from their environment and people they look to as a gauge on how to respond. Today with the Internet, that can be good or bad. If people are looking to validate a negative viewpoint, they can easily find quotes to back it up. Only if they are looking to be fair, and dig up as much as possible on both sides by can they avoid this trap. Even if people are honest that the projection is happening on both sides, if we can at least admit our biases and understand that others are doing the same thing, we can still work around each other's flaws and try to reach agreement on the common points.

We may never be completely rid of our biases; I try to treat the past elections and this one equally, where I recognize the real grievances on both sides that the other discredits as purely for political ploy and not a real issue. But I will inevitably still see things my way first, and understand the other people feel the equal and opposite way; without fully grasping it.
"Intellectually" I know it's equal on both sides, but I may not always "feel" both sides equally.

I originally wrote the lyrics to be bashing Democrats only, from within the Party. Then I had a run in with trying to work with Occupy, and added lyrics complaining what that was like. Recently a friend of mine "hated" the Republicans so much, I added lyrics bashing them. When I look at all three versions, I think the Republican lyrics came out the meanest, though I actually sympathize and understand why it looks bad and forgive it because I know what the real intent is. And I still have more trouble forgiving the Democrats for "exploiting voters to get elected." But someone I can forgive the Republicans and conservatives, because I understand the intent is good. So that shows my bias is more toward forgiving Conservatives for meaning to do right when it comes across as hateful; and harder on fellow Democrats who also mean well but come across as self-serving and focused on getting votes.

The origins of the KKK were young men who banded together to protect their families from the predations of the yankee carpetbaggers and southern scalawags who were stealing everything they could get their hands on.

The KKK really didn't start attacking blacks until the northerners started using the black vote to keep southerners out of the political process. See election of 2012 in Philadelphia as to how it worked.

Wow! Emily, that was a great read. Didn't see anything I disagree with. I can tell you are a seeker of truth, not an ideologue. Whatever your leanings, you're good people with me.

ALL Lies. ^^

The KKK was a Bandit organization started in 1865 hellbent on keeping the newly freed Slaves in check after Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 (just 2 years prior). They wore hoods to protect their faces because 99% of them were well-known local officials in the towns they operated in such as Mayors, Sherrifs, Preachers and Doctors.

Their formation had absolutely jackshit to do with voting and everything to do with killing Black people for fun. THAT was their only purpose. And they STILL do it today (ie - James Byrd and James Anderson)

The KKK was NEVER a fucking Political Party.

I am sure that is what the defense counsel pled to charges of murder, torture, arson, and so forth against the KKK.

Then they were convicted and hung. Most American.

To understand the perspective here, think of the South overrun with Blacks who were not fully educated and suddenly freed with no way set up to fend for themselves. Of course the property owners are going to form their own militia's to try to enforce law and order, out of fear of looting and lawlessness. What started as a means of organizing people to go hunting down criminals turned into lynch mobs. Similar happened with Hitler after Germany was left in shambles; with mobs and crime running wild in the streets, the people living in fear turned to whatever leaders brought semblance of order, using strong-armed methods.

Thats one Klan. How can you leave out Nathan B Forrest? He was the originator of the Klan for Pete's sake!

That is an interesting premise, Emily.

Let's see the evidence of massive black crime loose in the South. Telling a former master to STFU is not a criminal offense.

The mobs and criminals running amok were exactly who? Need some evidence here.

there were only a few tales of rebellion...

Nat Turner and Harriet Tubman.

the rest of the negros were scared shitless and got in line like good ignorant slave *******.

terrible history, but it's history nontheless.

Google it if she isn't moving fast enough for you. There are old news articles about runaway slaves raping and robbing people. I'm skeptical as to the truthfullness of the stories provided by those old time reporters because of their mind set as well, but I do not assign angel like-status to people simply because they were slaves. I'm sure some, maybe even a lot tried to take revenge and brutalized any whites they had a chance to.
