Nonsense! The KKK was established to fight the injustices of the carpet baggers that moved in to loot the confederate states after the war ended. It later became the goon squads of the Democrat state political leaders, and enforcers of the Jim Crow laws that those politicians enacted. They helped keep the South a Democrat fiefdom right up until the late Sixties. Those politicians stayed in power by the same class warfare themes that the left wing uses nationally today.

Keeping the Blacks in their place made the poor White Southerners feel superior, and they continually voted to keep those politicians in power. It was White/Black class warfare then, and it is rich/poor class warfare today.
