You don't think it's waxing worse? Maybe it is, maybe it isn't.... but the mud slinging and name calling, rubbing it in your face, arrogance and animosity is not what brings a country together.

Instead of letting results speak for themselves, it seems important for others to stick the knife in (on both sides) - and it seems to me the anger and hatred is building. Time will tell .... I'm just not getting an overall good feeling about it....

While we have always had divisions, we always felt we were one country and we could find a way to compromise and work together.

That's what is no longer there. We aren't one country and we hate each other. There is no point on which we will compromise. Under these circumstances there is no way the nation can stay intact for long.

A black man and a white woman are still a man and a woman. That ruling did not affect the physical structure of marriage.

This one did. This one said that states now have to lose money (tax breaks) in order to encourage "parents' to children that will always be missing one of the complimentary genders. This is institutionalized child psychological deficiency. The two situations are WORLDS apart..

And yes, the idea of two men ass-ramming each other and adopting little boys while they're at it (now that they legally cannot be denied that) while they dry hump at pride parades on the weekend in public is never ever ever ever ever going to be accepted by the majority of Americans. The Court just created a situation far worse in divisiveness in our society. You think a law is going to change how people feel about the visceral revulsion to homosexuals play-acting "mom and dad"? Keep dreaming. All this law did was remove the voice of the opposition. And when people are gagged and bound with their hands tied behind their backs, they do funny things at the polls when those bindings are loosened on that one day. And guess who they are not going to be blaming then? That's right, the GOP.

Goodbye to all the other good democratic platforms...their blood drains off the altar of sacrafice to the LGBT cult agenda..

Adopted children also qualify for tax breaks. many straight couples adopt. Many couples can't produce natural children, or don't want to.
If marriage is about procreation then all those couple who can't have their own children should not engage in sex, since sex is how procreation happens?
Sex is part of marriage and love. The sexual orientation of the couple, or the racial and religious make up of the couple should not matter.
It should not matter if one or both were divorced. It should not matter that a church or matchmaker was or was not involved. It should not matter what country one of both are from. We know it does not matter if the immigrants had mire than one wife before entering the US, much the same way it does not matter if priests were married before being ordained in the catholic church. Orthodox christian sects are allowed and expected to marry, not remain celibate.

My only real question is the use or abuse of marriage by those in jail. I don't think anyone convicted of and serving time should be eligible to marry till they get released. I don't believe in congeal visits either. It is not a vacation resort, but punishment for their crimes. Giving gays special rights to marry and cohabitant in jail is not IMHO the right course.

It is not the place of mankind to substitute their judgement for god's, god will judge people on the basis of their whole lives not just a single act. The church should be teaching love and tolerance, not hate. Civil law falls under the authority of 'cesear'. Marriage between gays is legal under US law. Discrimination against gays, or gay couples, is not legal.

Keep you noses out of the bedroom of two consenting adults. If they want to pledge themselves to each other legally, that is their choice, not ignorant judgmental hateful christians that don't understand Jesus teachings if love, forgiveness or not throwing stones.

There are far too many people in positions of influence who have a vested professional interest in keeping their "side" angry, keeping the "sides" divided.
