4 years of concealed carry guns in Chicago, not one CCW citizen arrested for illegal gun use...

There are people who are legally eligible to own guns and people who are not, Moron.
So that's part of "shall not be infringed"?

I never had a problem with people convicted of felonies being denied any of their rights
So you're against the 2nd Amendment as well! Will wonders never cease?
If stupid was money you'd be a billionaire.
If lies were truth you'd be Honest Abe.

What lies have I told?

If gun laws stop crime why isn't Chicago the safest place in the country?
They'd need gun laws that work.

Why does NH have the lowest murder rate in the country despite it having very lax gun laws?

HINT : It ain't the gun laws that determine the murder rate
So with all the guns in Chicago, why is it so unsafe?

It's not the guns it's the socioeconomic and cultural variables that drive crime in Chicago
But with so many guns, it should be a really safe place to live, right?
If you filthy liberals would stop letting criminals out of prison and or refusing to send them up in the first place we would, sure.

We now have 4 years of concealed gun carrying in Chicago...there are still no gun stores or shooting ranges in the city, but law abiding Chicago citizens have taken it upon themselves to travel to the suburbs to get their permits......

And so far, not one arrest for illegal gun use by a concealed carry permit user....as John Lott pointed out on the Dan and Amy show a few minutes ago, you have people with clerical mistakes....walking into a gun free zone, forgetting about having a gun on them, or not having their card on them while carrying....but no illegal gun use...

40 defensive shootings....not one arrest for illegal use of the gun, they were all justified....
'

Meanwhile, the Chicago judicial system keeps letting out violent gun criminals....criminals with prior arrests for illegal gun use...actual crimes where they used guns illegally.....getting out of jail and shooting people....

It isn't law abiding gun owners.... it is lack of criminal control.

Sadly, as the Joker told Two Face.....all according to the plan....

Almost nothing is known about dozens of concealed carry shootings in Illinois. Why?

The state police know nothing about the nearly 40 shootings by people with concealed carry licenses since Illinois became the last state to allow them four years ago.

-------

The Tribune combed through police files, court records and news reports to compile its own list. The analysis shows that:

  • Most of those shot by CCL holders have been armed robbers. Others include carjackers, a burglar with a crowbar, a robber with a gun to a clerk’s head, neighbors, an ex-girlfriend, a father-in-law, an unarmed teen stealing a Jeep, a passenger in a car during a road rage attack and a naked man acting “aggressively.”
  • They were shot by homeowners, customers, security guards, store clerks, a Chicago police dispatcher, a Chicago fire lieutenant, a Chicago Park District worker, a tow-truck driver and the owner of a West Side cellphone store.
  • The shootings took place at currency exchanges, phone stores, a driveway between two homes, parking lots, a party, a Loop McDonald’s, a West Side church, a block where children played and a downstate gun range.
----------

Lt. Matthew Boerwinkle, a spokesman for the state police, believes problems with concealed carry holders are few and there is no need for more oversight or transparency.

“You rarely hear of an instance where a CCL holder is using their firearm in an unlawful manner,” he said. “They’re generally law-abiding citizens, and they’ve gone to great lengths to get to where they’re at to have a CCL. And they’ve taken training to get there. And most of them, they understand what the requirements are to use force to defend themselves.”
If more guns are the solution, then why isn't Chicago the safest place on earth?

They have all the gun laws you want, and they don't even allow gun stores or gun ranges in the city....yet.......

You don't want to understand that law abiding gun owners are not shooting other human beings...it is the violent, repeat gun offenders who can't buy, own or carry guns that are shooting people...and who the democrats keep letting out of jail in less than 3 years for repeated gun violations as violent felons....

Every city where you see high levels of gun crime.... you have democrats running the court system.
But guns are supposed to make everyone safe, what's happening? Are you saying that Chicago isn't safe? So then guns DON'T make people safer?

I know you are playing dumb.....but we don't have to play with you......

the gun control laws in Chicago only effect law abiding gun owners. They do not effect criminals who ignore the law and are willing to face the punishment for getting caught using a gun illegally.

The law abiding gun owners are not using their guns to commit rapes, robberies and murders.... They can have all the guns they want and the gun crime rate is not going to go up....as the United States over the last 20 years has shown...as more Americans own and carry guns, our gun murder rate went down 49%, our gun crime rate went down 75%, our violent crime rate went down 72%.

Now in Britain, they actually banned and confiscated guns, even more extreme gun control than in Chicago...what happened? Their gun crime rate in London just last year was up 42%..... their homicide rate was up 44%...... their violent crime rate across England and Wales is up in some cases 95%....

I never said guns make everyone safe but guns in the hands of law abiding citizens do not add to the crime and or murder rates
"I never said guns make everyone safe". I'll hold you to that. Thanks.

Go ahead. In fact why don't you try to find anywhere where I have ever stated that guns make everyone safe.
I just wanted you to admit that guns don't make people safe. My job is done with you. Thanks for playing.

Guns make law abiding people safer...from rapes, robberies and murders....law abiding Americans helped the gun murder rate go down 49%....the gun crime rate go down 75%, and the violent crime rate go down, 72%........

What part of the crime rates going down do you not understand? That means people are safer.....as more Americans own and carry guns...

I am a big supporter of CCW. I have said in the past that licensed weapons holders have never been the problem. The problems are with the unlicensed. And almost ALL firearms owned are owned by the unlicensed. You want to lower firearms crimes, make it mandatory to have to have a license to have one. But that might be too far reaching. Maybe if you require only certain classes of firearms to come under that licensing in order to purchase them, own them or even sell them. At this point, our opinions begin to differ greatly.
Next up licensing for free speech.

When you can figure out a way to kill just by your voice alone I might agree. But until then........
Charles Manson did it. There are plenty of other examples, if you need more.

How’s crime?

In Chicago....it has gone up...because the democrats keep letting violent gun criminals out of jail.....just ask the Police Commissioner about the revolving door for gang bangers with multiple gun felonies who are out of jail over and over again.....

Police chiefs plot new strategies against gun violence and mass shootings

Even as it is beset by gun violence, Chicago likes to claim it has some of the strictest gun laws in the country. “I laugh because that’s not true,” Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie T. Johnson said Thursday.

“For the first six months [after the law making gun possession a felony passed], we could not find a gun out on the street. But it actually takes three times for them to be treated like a felon” by Chicago’s courts, where judges and prosecutors were reducing gun charges to misdemeanors, and the word quickly spread. Soon, it was back to violent business as usual.

This guy wasn't a law abiding gun owner...he was a violent criminal released from prison even though he was a violent animal...

Alleged killer of Chicago police commander was on the streets due to unusually light sentence for major parole violations

Chicago Police commander Paul Bauer was savagely executed, “shot six times in the head, neck, torso, back and wrist.” No fewer than “three civilian witnesses identified Shomari Legghette in a police lineup as the man who struggled with Bauer at the top of a stairwell outside the Thompson Center in the Loop moments before his death” less than a month ago.

Now it turns out that Legghette should have been in prison on any rational basis, but wasn’t because Chicago’s justice system is “a joke” in the eyes of criminals -- in the words of Chicago’s police superintendent.

Greg Re of the Chicago Sun-Times describes how it is that Legghette was free to do what he wished in the streets of Chicago:

The suspect who allegedly gunned down Chicago police Commander Paul Bauer near City Hall earlier this month received an unusually light sentence for major parole violations in 2007, court records show.
-------

The documents, reviewed by the Chicago Sun-Times, reveal that Bauer's accused killer, Shomari Legghette, dodged up to 30 years in prison when he was booked for the violations that year.

At the time of his 2007 sentencing, Legghette was on parole following an armed robbery conviction that landed him a 16-year sentence, and prison time from 1998 to 2005.

Records show that police found Legghette in the South Side in 2007 with $1,800 in cash, body armor, a chrome revolver, and a baggie of heroin, the Sun-Times reported.

Evidently, this was not regarded as THAT serious:

But instead of pursuing felony charges for those parole violations, records show, prosecutors opted to send Legghette to prison for only a few weeks after he pled guilty to a lesser charge of possessing a weapon with a defaced serial number.

No homicides in Green Bay in 2017 contributes to 10 percent drop in crime

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - The Green Bay Police Department reports crime in the city dropped significantly last year - compared to the year before. Local 5's Kris Schuller has more on the numbers and reaction from residents who feel very safe living in Northeast Wisconsin.

If there's trouble within the Wilder Park neighborhood - Neighborhood Association President Scott Vanidestine says he can contact police and they'll respond quickly.

“They know the neighborhoods, they know what's going on. They take care of us out there,” said Vanidestine.

And based on just released uniform crime report numbers for the city of Green Bay for 2017 - the police department does a good job of taking care of the entire community.

“A 9.77 percent decrease in total crime in Green Bay is just fantastic, that's a number any chief across the country would be happy to have for crime numbers in their city,” said Police Chief Andrew Smith.

For violent crime robbery was down nearly 10 percent, rape nearly four and as for homicides, we'll there weren't any.

“We haven't done that since 1981 in Green Bay, so that's a terrific number for us as well,” said Smith.

Property crimes also saw significant reductions with burglary down 28 percent and theft down eight percent. Combined total crime in 2017 was down almost 10 percent when compared to 2016.

Our jails are the fullest in the world.

Wrong, they are filled for short periods with violent criminals, then democrats let those criminals out in less than 3 years..... it isn't how full they are, doofus, it is how long they stay full with violent monsters....
Funny how you blame Dems. Only time we had a significant decrease in crime was when Bill Clinton passed gun control and his crime bill.

If gun laws stop crime why isn't Chicago the safest place in the country?
They'd need gun laws that work.

It doesn't matter what the gun laws say. You keep going on about how everyone around the world should arm themselves to be safer. Chicago isn't safer despite all the guns. Or are you a gun-grabber, and want to take some people's guns away in Chicago?
Our homicide rate is 4-5x that of countries with strong gun control....

No...our homicide rate is higher because our criminals are willing to commit murder more often... the homicide rate in Britain went up 44% last year....after they banned guns...

As more Americans own and carry guns our gun murder rate went down 49%....

How’s crime?

When you lock up the actual criminals, crime goes down...when they learn that you won't lock them up, they laugh and commit rapes, robberies and murders.... you need to learn that lesson...

The Washington Post is blaming democrats, you doofus...

Analysis | The surprising way gun violence is dividing America

In the most Democratic regions, gun violence is more often committed against another, crimes that probably generate more news coverage and fear. In the most Republican areas, it is more often committed against oneself, suicides that may not attract as much attention.

------

As the below charts show, Democratic areas (measured by the party that controls the congressional district) are far more likely to experience almost all forms of malicious gun violence than Republican areas.
