3rd major political party needed

What the U.S. needs is a 'No' vote...indicating rejecting of all candidates.

The way U.S. politics works, if in the entire country one candidate gets 2 votes and the other candidate gets 1 vote, the first candidate claims a 66% to 33% majority and huge mandate.

Giving people a 'No' vote would really show how people felt.
This is also nonsense.

The notion of a ‘no vote’ is just another manifestation of apathy, indifference, and lack of involvement.

Fixing what’s wrong with the political process isn’t going to be easy, getting involved at the very local level isn’t going to be easy; it means stop watching Netflix, and playing video games, and – yes – posting on message boards, and attending political events and activities and having real input as to who will run for elected office.

A third party won’t work, top-down ‘fixes’ won’t work, changing the mechanics of the voting process won’t work.

THOUGHTS FROM AN INDEPENDENT

60% of Americans are not satisfied with either political party, in fact most would support a major 3rd political party. But what would a 3rd party look like? Any thoughts?

Perceived Need for Third Major Party Remains High in U.S.

Most Americans want a third party. The agreement stops there

How much longer can the two-party system hold?

You want Trump to have a second term? Or some other populist wannabe dictator? If 34% of the vote is enough to win, assholes like Trump will always have a shot.

This nation became the leader of the free world with two major parties.

You’d be better served to look at how we allocate power in the house and senate.

Hello, and thank you for registering as a G5000 Party voter!

Here is our 2020 platform:

1. We believe in a level playing field. People and businesses earning identical incomes should be paying identical taxes. The government should not be interfering in our lives or the marketplace, deciding what behaviors or enterprises should be rewarded and which should be punished. No more exemptions, deductions, and credits. In exchange, all Americans will see a much lower tax rate and a balanced budget.

2. We are living decades longer than our ancestors of 1935, when Social Security was enacted. Since we are living longer, we should be working longer. Common sense is a core value in the G5000 Party! The Social Security and Medicare eligibility ages should be immediately raised to 70, and indexed to 9 percent of the population going forward.

3. A national referendum on health care reform should be held by 2022. The patchwork Rube Goldberg health care system we have now is an unmitigated disaster. Those in favor of a "free market solution" should offer up legislation to that effect. Those in favor of "universal health care" should offer up legislation to that effect. Then let the American voters decide which plan is to be enacted.

4. The more you tax something, the less of it you get. Therefore, taxes on consumption are superior to taxes on production. All federal income tax is to be abolished and replaced with a national Fair Tax. There will be no exemptions of any kind for the Fair Tax. Ever.

More to come...
More the come after the Constitutional Convention – because that’s the only way the G5000 Party will realize any of its goals.

A binding ‘National referendum’ that carries the force of law would require a Constitutional amendment, for example, and thankfully so (see: Brexit debacle).

A new major party would be the death of one or both of the existing parties.

Our political parties are coalitions.

Dems: Nation of Islam, La Raza, Klan, Neo-Marxist, gerbil abusers, criminals, jihadist, anti American bigots…..

Reps: mainstream, middle class, patriots, capitalist, law and order, 2nd Amend, pro life,….

It will take some powerful people with a LOT of money to launch a new major party.

I've been saying for some time now that our country is ripe for a new major party.

The commies have taken over the Democratic party, and the nazis have taken over the Republican party. Both are becoming more and more polarized every day, urged on by their respective propaganda organs.

You are half correct.

Hmmmmm.

And who is responsible for sending back to Congress those who ‘screw up…’

Correct: the voters – not the two major parties; and nothing will change with the creation of a third party as long as voters remain ignorant, apathetic, and uninvolved.
You're still left with the "lesser of two evils" choice, so they can continue to sit on their motherfucking asses and fail to produce because they know the alternative is not better.

Everyone should vote Libertarian until this shit dies.
Whatever You Hear, From Whichever Side, Is Nothing But Deafening Ear Candy

The duopoly's media, paid off to preserve the two-party regime, cover up the fact that with Gary Johnson's votes, Trump would have won the popular vote.
