3 in 10 young adults living with their parents

Actually the stat is closer to 4 in 10.
But that shouldn't let the 'what Obama has done for you, and it could be alot worse!' crowd, continue to cheer that he is the best thing since sliced bread.

I wouldn't cheer that at all.

I would say that this problem has been a long time coming, and both parties have a lot of responsibility for it.

Both parties have ignored the basic bedrock of American Society is an American working person bringing home a decent salary.

The Democrats think Snail Darters are more important. We just put everyone on welfare.

And the REpublican Party thinks Polo Ponies are. We just make sure the rich people get their tax breaks.

You do understand that most companies actually do reinvest their profits back into their businesses....????

Some do, yes. Right now, most aren't. They're sitting on cash because they're concerned about future demand for their goods and services. Raising their taxes actually puts them in the position of investing and lowering their tax burden, or not investing and paying more in taxes. And that is where we want businesses to be again.

If you want to ruin a business, start you own.

But please don't even pretend to know how you could affect the decions a corporation will make.

The arrogance of the left is sometimes beyond tragic.

yes....the liberoidal thought process.....tax them more so they'll make more money to pay more taxes....:cuckoo:

you mean lowering the retirement age don't you...?

those in the $110K+ income range don't even count on social security....and why would they want to be forced to retire early from a great paying interesting job when they still feel young enough....people are living longer all the time you know...

You are either completely confused or not even reading my posts.

Which is it?

you must be on some thought process of your own....what limit are you talking about raising....? i thought your premise was to lower the retirement age...

Yes, but not on specific jobs.

I said the retirement age should be lowered so that more people who are working because they can't afford retirement, will be able to pull full SS payments now and retire now. This would free up millions of jobs for younger workers. Don't permanent lower the age, but do a one time thing to get a bunch of people out of the work force.

In doing so, it was accurately pointed out that this will put stress on SS and that we should fix that before lowering the age. I agree. The fix to SS is to remove the limit employers pay on people's salary. YOU claimed this would drive all companies overseas, which obviously can't happen, but also wouldn't happen because the cap only affects workers making over $100K a year, and those jobs don't get outsourced.

Now that I've held your hand through all of this, do you feel like responding to the topic? Or launching more insults?

Parents are working way past retirement age to support their bong hitting, x-box playing offspring. Some parents have had to go BACK to work when the kids show up and refuse to work. Now I certainly understand that these kids want to start at the very top, and have the corner office on their first day. No one has told them they aren't worth it, go scrub a toilet, start somewhere.

I went through this with my son. I literally had to put him out on the street because retail was too good for a 32 year old with three degrees who never worked before. He wanted time to get one more degree, by changing majors every year. Screw it. Get a job. Sell burgers, mop floors. Something!

So, your personal experience equals everyone else?

I thought will all the free stuff that Republicans say poor people get, it would be easy to be own.

3 in 10 still at home, you say?

The percentage would be higher than that, I suspect, if more parents in America could AFFORD to support their young adult kids at home.

Evidently a significant number otherwise no one would even be mentioning it, and there would be no articles in newspapers about it.,

I had my go around with "young" people when I had my business open. I hired a dozen or more, that lasted from a few minutes to a couple of hours. They don't want to work, they are lazy, and have an inflated opion of themselves. The OWS protest sites are full of them and the colleges and universities filled with millions more.

More young people living at home...but god forbid we raise the minimum wage, right?

This is what the race to the bottom will bring us.

If these "kids" had started working for minimum wage, and actually worked, they wouldn't be earning minimum wage now, unless their asses were totally worthless.

OWS wants a minimum wage of $20.00 an hour so they can work part time.

It's a crying shame that there are people out there who are only worth minimum wage.

That's what I got while still in HS. And I took a paycut joining the Army. Temporarily...........

Largest number since 1950.;. Yeah the jobs are really there huh..

It's interesting that you make out like this is some new phenomenon....when actually leaving parents at 18s-25s is the fairly new phenomenon.

Children living with their parents until they are in their thirties is a sign of a poor economy. This is quite common in third world countries, and also recently in the socialist paradices of Europe.

Easy fix. Lower the retirement age.

Too bad the GOP will never go for it.

Right. Forcing people to retire early will do wonders for the solvency of programs like SS and Medicare.

European countries have tried such measures, and all it does is increase their debt.

What a boob.

These kids got a rude awakening. With the rep they made for themselves, foreign business owners don't want them at ALL. That is probably part of the problem with an inabilityt to find work. The more businesses owned by foreign interests and immigrants the less jobs that are available for Americans who have such a disastrous reputation that no one wants them at any price.
