I'm sure Trump would like to beat Biden, but if he loses again his brand name would be worthless, and the only asset he really has is the brand name. Plus, he wasn't really successful in getting a gop congress to do much. And people really did get tired of his act.

As you posted the Trump brand name is worth 30% of the gop base. And in the 2016 primaries, he really won with a plurality rather than a majority. Hopefully, the Mitch McConnell tax cuts have run their course of popularity. I just don't see the gop plan. You can't drill your way out when demand will always be greater than demand unless we're in economic freefall. I don't see their econ plan. And no right to abortion in the first trimester is not a pleasing position. (pun)

Biden called himself a "transition" candidate, and he's going to be pressured by progressives and centrists to retire. It would be a big ego blow to an egotist. But more importantly, I just don't think overall inflation can last another 2.5 years with rate hikes. Gas and food are two commodities that will continue to have more demand than supply. But people use less when prices are high. But the dems can't expect to win if they're running on defund the police and gay rights in elementary school and optional choice bathrooms. And Bernie's democratic socialism isn't going to win 270 EV imo. We're broke and suburban voters know it. Hold govt spending to less than gnp and pray.
