15 Years in Prison

Bacon used in hate crime: Titusville man gets 15 years in mosque vandalism

According to Brevard County records, Wolfe has had multiple run-ins with the law dating back to 1998, including convictions in burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and grand theft in 2004— for which he was sentenced to two years, seven months and two days in prison— and burglary of a conveyance in 2011, for which he was sentenced to 64 days in the county jail. Wolfe was also fined and sentenced to probation after a 2001 burglary and grand theft arrest when he was just 20 years old, records show.

In addition, Wolfe was found guilty in three DUI offenses, possession of hydrocodone and cannabis, and an array of traffic violations. He spent over a year and a half in total in the Brevard County Jail over the course of his sentencings.

This is the model citizen people like Mac want to celebrate as "victims" of political correctness.

So, out of all those convictions, including burglary and grand theft, he only served a year and a half, yet gets 15 year’s for this.

He is also psychotic.

Ditchweed, you have to put on your big-boy pants if you want to argue with the big-boys.

Let me know when you come back with an argument that is relevant other than "Joe is a big meanyhead".

So, we've established that people who vandalize houses of worship do get stiff sentences, and while there could be a good argument made as to why that is the case, this guy really didn't get that stiff of a sentence compared to people who vandalize Christian churches.

#076: 02-20-97 - Two Klansmen Receive Lengthy Sentences for Burning Two South Carolina Churches

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Two former members of the Christian
Knights of the Ku Klux Klan who pled guilty to burning two
predominantly African American churches in South Carolina last
year were each sentenced today to at least 18 years in prison,
the Justice Department announced.

Gary Christopher Cox, 23, was sentenced to prison for 19 and
one half years and Timothy Adron Welch, 24, was sentenced to
prison for 18 years today in the U.S. District Court in
Charleston. The two pled guilty last August to violating federal
civil rights and arson statutes for burning the Mt. Zion AME
Church in Greeleyville on June 20, 1995, and the Macedonia
Baptist Church in Bloomville on the following day.
Dude, you are ADORABLE. It is a bit like a 7-year-old trying to act like an adult.

If you think REALLY, REALLY HARD, you might understand the difference between vandalism and ARSON.

for roughing up a mosque building and leaving bacon on the porch. Is Sharia Law in effect now in Florida?

"A man who vandalized a Florida mosque in January 2016 and left a raw slab of bacon on its doorstep was sentenced to 15 years in prison on a hate crime conviction, a state attorney’s spokesman said on Wednesday.

Michael Wolfe, 37, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to criminal mischief to a place of worship in a case considered a felony hate crime, said Todd Brown, spokesman for Florida’s 18th Judicial District, which includes Brevard and Seminole counties.

Surveillance video after the 2016 incident showed a man with a shaved head and camouflage clothing breaking windows, cameras and lights with a machete at the mosque in Titusville, Florida, near Cape Canaveral, police said."

This is not "sharia" law, it's American law. This guy entered a guilty plea to a felony. He also has quite a history.

It's excessive. The punishment does not fit the crime -unless you consider vandalizing with bacon so hateful that it warrants 15 years in prison. Sharia Law is big on punishing disses upon allah.

But it is not "sharia law" that is being enforced here, a fact that you seem dedicated to ignoring.
Crimes against houses of worship have been increasing, so it's good that the authorities are putting their collective foot down. Maybe it will cause the crazies to think before they act. He's a habitual offender, anyway. And the armed-burglary charge against him was dropped.

It wasn't the bacon that was the problem... it was the vandalism.

And the fact that this guy has been in and out of jail since 2000, a serial criminal.

Sounds reasonable to me. The guy committed vandalism and a hate crime.
Fifteen years in prison for vandalism is reasonable to you. Interesting.
It is also reasonable to him that Kate Steinle's murderer got off scot-free.

So...you must consider the source.
This guy entered a guilty plea. In the Steinle case, the shooter was tried by a jury. The two cases are totally dissimilar.

Probably didn't help that he was caught on video-tape doing the vandalism.

Then again, there's a mosque a couple miles from my house. Thanks to people like this, they need an iron gate, cameras, security and a lot of other things to protect if from people like this.

If you read with comprehension, you'd notice that I'm making the point that Sharia Law, not US law tends to punish crimes against allah. Tell me, do you believe that 15 years in prison is a reasonable sentence for vandalism? Would that be a fair sentence if the guy didn't have a record? Do you think the guy should have gotten 15 years in prison if he beheaded a statue in a Catholic church?

It's a shame what is happening to our once principled and beautiful country, full of respectful people. I worry about the Muslims in my neighborhood, of which there are many. They are good neighbors and very polite people.
There are so many people in real-life America and on the internet now, being absolutely vile, both in terms of opinion and language, that I have many times wondered how these people were brought up, who their parents were.

They are entirely dissimilar, but that was not my point. Why to strawman argument?

But what does Sharia Law have to do with this case in the first instance? Please draw the link. If someone with this guy's history vandalized a Catholic Church, I can't think of a single way in which Canon Law would ever come up in the criminal-justice system when the perp was caught. This guy pleaded guilty to a felony, the armed-burglary charge was dropped in exchange, and he is a habitual offender. This is how the U.S. legal system operates.

I was not the person who brought up the Steinle case.

1) 15 years is more than a fair sentence for a career criminal commiting a hate crime.
2) Yes, his previous record should have been a consideration.
3) Catholics aren't subject to hate crimes the way Muslims have been since 2001.
