The Dean Martin Show

I vaguely remember 'I Spy' as a pretty good show. What's unbelievable is that there were 82 episodes of it.

Sometimes it is a shock to look back at shows now.

I watched some episodes of "The Man from Uncle" which I loved as a kid- I found almost unwatchable now.

I know. I've never gotten the thing where some people obsess about how great old movies were either.

Well some movies I think hold up over time- the movies that most people consider 'classics' are still pretty good- African Queen, Casablanca, almost anything with Cary Grant, Some Like it Hot.

Some of the old movies though are worse than the worse stuff on TV ever.

Very true...especially movies from the 30s. Some are just laughably bad. 1939 was the best year for movies ever
40s was a lot of war propaganda but post war and the 50s had some awesome flicks

TV today produces stuff better than the movies

The good portion of TV has never been better. The bad portion of TV has never been worse.

I love old movies

They are part of our history

Personally, I can't pass a chance to see William Powell and Myna Loy together.

Especially the one with James Stewart as a homicidal maniac.

(after the thin man)
