The state of New Mexico is starting a free to all childcare program on November 1. There seems to be problems because many childcare facilities are closing due to new rules being imposed. So the bottom line is that there will be LESS childcare available after the "free universal childcare " law goes into effect.
I have a friend who's daughter runs a childcare here in Arizona, and she is getting a lot of calls from parents looking for childcare even if they have to drive them over here to Arizona and pick them up after their work is done.
Somehow this "free" shit always causes problems and never seems to work.

Women are shirking their child raising duty in the first place. They should marry and have children before their eggs become geriatric and men need to make a commitment before sticking their penises into the baby-making place. Do you want to know what will REALLY happen when they try to "target" the wealthy in NYC? Look at what happened in New Jersey when they imposed their version of a "millionaires tax"! Tax revenues didn't go up...they went down...substantially! Why? Because wealthy people are good at maintaining their wealth. They don't sit there and let others take their wealth. They either leave for places that won't tax them or they put their wealth into tax shelters that won't be taxed. Either way, you not only don't get the revenues you were anticipating but because they're living elsewhere...you're not getting the taxes you USED to be getting!
