Palestine was not a Jewish country when European Jews began proclaiming their intention to turn it into a Jewish majority state. Jews who lived in Palestine at that time experienced nothing like the oppression their descendants inflict on non-Jews today. Jews in Iran face less persecution today than Palestinians living under Jewish occupation.

Every country in the world, without exception, created it's borders by subjugating some other culture. It's the way of the world. The Jews (what was left of them after WW2) didn't have to subjugate a culture, Israel was theirs from antiquity. The British Balfour decision and the subsequent UN decisions affirmed Israel as a sovereign independent nation that successfully defended it's borders with military action.
