On July 22, 2025, former President Donald Trump announced a potential plan to eliminate capital gains taxes on home sales. This proposal, made during a meeting with the President of the Philippines, suggests that homeowners could sell their properties without paying federal taxes on the profits.

However, Trump did not provide specific details about the implementation of this idea, leaving many questions unanswered about its feasibility and impact.

Trump's proposal is linked to his ongoing pressure on the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates. He stated, "If the Fed lowered rates, we wouldn't have to do this." The Fed typically adjusts rates to stimulate or cool down the economy. Trump's tariffs have contributed to the Fed's cautious approach. By proposing tax changes, Trump aims to influence economic conditions without relying solely on monetary policy adjustments.

Trump, working for Americans....While the fed holds us back.

I'd like to see it.....Capital Gains shouldn’t even be in our vocabulary it's just another form of thievery.

First $250K is excluded from Capital Gains for singles, $500K for Married couples on primary residence. Assuming you lived in the home 2 out the 5 years before the sale.

Um, actually, I had to pay some Capital gains on my Condo because the last year I owned it, I had to rent it. I'd have gotten off tax free if I had been able to sell it directly, but some twats decided that filing a lawsuit against the deconversion was a good idea.

So the executive branch is kicking sand in banksters faces ?
