We're broke. No more billions for an endless war and killing. That was Blinken and whoever else ran the country for the past 4 years which certainly wasn't Biden. They flushed money down the toilet, doing no good at all. It was a Blinken disaster again pressuring Ukraine to join NATO, putting a fire keg next to Russia. McCain said it best about Blinken decades ago. "Trouble follows him wherever he goes" and it was Blinken's disaster and lack of planning in Afghanistan that cost billions in equipment and lives that gave Russia the signal that Ukraine was a GO.

They left Afghanistan for the same reason we left Vietnam and Afghanistan, their nation never fully mobilized for war, just as ours never did.

The suggestion that Russia can't beat Afghanistan or Ukraine, is as laughable as the suggestion that the U.S. could not defeat Vietnam or Afghanistan if both nations were fully mobilized for total war.

Everything I have read indicates they have no desire for a long term occupation of hostile territory.
