Here is a perspective that doesn't come out much in coverage of this endless war. Zelensky has declared martial law, cancelled elections, has outlawed and persecuted opposition including religious groups, has taken to virtually kidnapping men into his army, and would likely lose if there were a fair election in Ukraine today. If/when this war ends, he is history - and not in a good way.

Regardless of anything, Ukraine will never go back to what it was ten years ago, and it will never become a member of NATO. Its saving graces are tremendous agricultural potential, a wealth of minerals including rare earth metals, and a noble population if they all decide to come back. The world cannot let Zelensky's vanity stand in the way of a rational end to this conflict.

Rest assured, no matter how things play out the American Media will portray it as a defeat or failure for TRUMP. The rationale they will use is yet to be seen.

First of all, you are unaware of actual history, which says the Ukraine was always not just part of Russia, but the most important part.
Kyiv used to be the capital of Russia for example, and it only moved to Moscow due to the Mongol invasion.

Second is that you forget Russia can never allow the Ukraine to join NATO unless the US is first wiped off the map from a massive nuclear first strike.
Why? Because the Ukraine is INSIDE the Russian defense grid, so if the US were allowed to place cruise nukes in the Ukraine, then Russia would be defenseless against them. So then if Russia ever even suspects they might lose in the Ukraine, their only option would be the biggest pre-emptive nuclear strike on the US that they could possibly muster.
It is success by the Ukraine that ensures WWIII, not the other way around.
It is the US that is the aggressor, not Russia.
Go back to 2012, and you see the last democratic election was pro-Russia.
The current dictatorship in Kyiv is a coup bribed in 2014 by the US.

And actually, the US sided with the evil colonial imperialists who were guilty of starting both WWI and WWII. Germany was totally innocent in both those wars. Russia started WWI with assassination and France started WWI by invading southern Germany. The Treaty of Versailles stole over half of Germany and caused WWII to be justified and necessary. Read up on why the Germans surrendered in WWI? It was not combat defeat, but massive starvation of millions of German civilians by the illegal sinking of civilian food ships.

His political career will be over. It's the same argument some have made against Bibi in Israel though, so it's impossible to know.

I would predict that Bibi maintains office at a far higher degree of certainty than Zelensky. Not even the E.U allies want him to remain if an agreement is made. At least if an agreement is made though, Zelensky can retire knowing he is a national hero in the corners of many.

So the whole point of the Budapest Memorandum was to reward Russia for removing them, by promised of "no eastern advancement of NATO".

So instead of a being a treaty obligation, the US bribing the Maidan Coup in 2014 was an illegal treaty violation amounting to a declaration of war.

Look at what happened when Cuba tried to put short range, defensive nuke there in 1962?
The US was ready to declare war.
The idea of allowing the Ukraine join NATO, is vastly more criminal since then the US would put medium range cruise nukes that Russia could not detect.

The Ukraine also made many other treaty violations that were acts of war, such as trying to prevent Russian use of Sevastopol, allowing the racist Azov Battalion to murder over 30k ethnic Russian natives of the Ukraine, violating Russian gas line treaties, cutting off negotiations, etc.

Clearly Kyiv is the violator who has to lose and be punished for their obvious crimes.

If it ever looked like Putin was not going to win on the ground, then nuking the US would be the ONLY possible option left.
And there is not a single Russia who would disagree with Putin on the need to nuke the US.
The Ukraine is INSIDE the Russian defense grid, so Russia can never allow NATO nukes to be placed in the Ukraine.
England and France likely would do nothing if the US forced Russia to nuke the US.
And Russia can survive a nuclear war, that the US could not.
It is estimated that just 3 high altitude nukes above the US, would be enough EMP to wipe out all microchips, including all vehicles, cellphones, internet, TV, utilities, etc.
We would be left staving in the cold and dark.

Russia attacked the Ukraine. Zelensky can't afford a peace agreement made by trump and putin which he is not a part of. Perhaps you remember how trump met with the terrorist Taliban to sell out our Afghan allies. He left them out of the peace negotiations too. We all know how bad that ended up for the Afghan people. That is wrong. They had a massive number of nuclear weapons on their own.

When Russia fell, Ukraine became independent. They had THOUSANDS of nuclear warheads left over from Russia. They did NOT want to give up these weapons but we convinced them that if they did, we would protect them if they were attacked. So we are under an obligation to help them out.
