You don't need much meat.....just a little...

Most of the crops grown in the world are fed to livestock so we could easily feed everyone without meat.

But why are you making up arguments and attributing them to me?

I never said anything about the entire population going vegan even though it is entirely possible

Haha... okay so you are counting grass as edible vegetation for humans?? Hilarious.
There is a whole world outside of America. Here, yes, we unfortunately feed livestock foods they were never meant to eat just to fatten them up quickly. That is franken-food. And that is not related to what I am saying.
In order to be vegan, you MUST eat vegetation and grains that are grown far-far-far away from your immediate environment. All of those veggies/fruits/grains consume mass energy to both produce and ship. HUUGE swaths of land to grow. Vegetation is NOT the answer for the future.
Insects?.... that is a whole other possibility.

No but grain is.

And a cow has to be fed 6kg of vegetable matter to make 1 kg of protein that is eaten as meat.

The grain we grow in this country to feed livestock could feed 800 million people.

It would take less land not more to feed people a vegan diet.
So can the cows, and there you go again, go promote your vegan shit to vegan shits.

Fk blue you disappoint me

And you're promoting eating meat so what's the difference?
LOL you think you are smarter, healthier and will live longer because you do not eat meat.

You haven't once posted how fast you run or bike a mile how much you bench press or dead lift. See it's not enough to say you are better you need to prove it little one

No Just smarter than you.

You believe things which are plain old wrong.

You are wrong about B12, iron, zinc, the 9 essential amino acids among others

And I work out every day, I don't bother with heavy weights or 1 rep maximums and concentrate on functional strength. Use the TRX suspension trainer, and a variety of dumbbells and kettle bells.

But I did post a link to vegans who are do lift weights

here it is again

We eat far too much meat in this nation....I'm not complaining but it's the truth. There are plenty of protein sources that can sustain us with less expense and much less strain to our physical being than meat causes.

Years ago I knew a vegan who suffered from protein deficiency and he refused to take his doctor's advice to have one or two buffalo burgers a month...." That's all you need " he said....but because my friend was a religious Vegan he held out. Eventually he developed a horrible open sore on his nose that made it impossible for him to do his job as a department administrator who had to face dozens of people every day....so after checking with his Maharishi or whoever the hell his spiritual counselor was he decided to do two buffalo burgers a month..... Voila! His sore healed up is a matter of a few weeks and to this day this is all the meat he consumes..

JO
I won't give up my weekly 16 oz ribeye. The problem with the hardcore vegan loons is they believe they have the right to force that shit on everyone.

I liken vegetarians to someone who has quit smoking or drinking. That's all they can talk about.
Well since this thread is about not needing to eat a lot meat it makes sense that people who don't eat meat post here.

And what other threads do I talk about nit eating meat other than the ones about diet?
Irrelevant, you’re trying to push an agenda, not discuss meat. Again, shame on you

Where have I pushed anything on anyone please quote the post where I have
Playing leftists games now. Look up my posts in here and I answered you twice, I’m not doing a third time. It’s obvious I was right since you ignored the other two

If you think making a factual statement is "pushing an agenda" that's your problem not mine.
Well you haven’t done that.

I have and have pposted many links
None were studying the two scenarios.

Actually one of the articles did link eating less meat to living longer.
With no evidence. See, it’s that damn evidence thingy you don’t have to make any opinion fact. Again, dude, I don’t care your habits, why are you so concerned with ours?
The article refeneced a study

The study has been published in the JAMA Internal Medicine Journal and reignites debate around increasingly popular vegan diets amid conflicting medical advice and evidence over their impact of proponents' health.

You might want to actually read the article I linked to

Yes it does where do you think I pulled the quote from. Try reading more than just the title

No I suppose you';ll say that's not a study either

.....I eat a lot of meat..I'm in perfect health

Yeah....I didn't mean to say it was unhealthy....only that we are in no danger during a meat shortage.
The actual amount we need will always be there and the market will always bounce back. Hell I have a Nephew away up on the canadian border who has a freezer full of skinned squirrel.... He's not concerned about the pork or beef markets at all...lol.

JO
won't it be like the TP shortage with IDIOTS hoarding?

You can always find small amounts of frozen meat....if we see a meat shortage it won't be due to actual shortage it will be a contrived one forced on us to make us afraid. If we needed to do it we could survive quite well on less than a pound a month of red meat and be perfectly healthy....the meat shortage is no real threat to our existence only to our lifestyles....lol

Yes there will always be meat.

The question is can you afford it?

If the price of it goes up what good is it's availability if you can't afford to buy it?

That's one of the problems with supply side economics. You don't consider demand. That is part of the capitalism equation.

You can supply all the product you want. If no one wants it or no one can afford it, everything you have supplied is worthless garbage.

considering all of the chemicals that get injected into beef, pork and chicken....there has to be some downside to heavy consumption of those items I would think.

Meat is healthy for humans and in case you didn't know vegetarianism isn't natural for humans, then you can tell, if not through observance, then through your teeth. Vegetarian animals have no sharp or pointy teeth, basically either a toothless bone ridge or a mouth full of molars, like cows or sheep.

And isn't it theorized by the scientists, that our brain size grew rapidly once we began eating more meat, because we discovered fire, which allows meat to be digested easier by our bodies...??

Or something like that...???

I don't know if cooking it makes it easier to digest but go a few weeks without beef. Then eat some. Your whole system will be plugged up for a while.

The human body has to get used to it to be able to digest it. Even then some of it is left in your colon. Which causes cancer.

I think if the human body can't digest it and has to get used to it, maybe I shouldn't be putting it in my body.

It goes along with my view that if you have to add a bunch of things to something to be able to consume it, why are you consuming it?

Thats the same game I used to run! But I called it "just the tip"!

I follow the, Linda McCartney diet for years and years. Anyone know a good chemo doctor?
Linda died young certainly not a person to follow
She bragged and bragged about her vegan life. I still have her TV dinners stored in a huge freezer. 30 yrs worth still.

So you're saying that her being vegan caused her to get breast cancer and die?

Can you be more ridiculous?

I'm not vegan. I eat animal products including meat. Seafood and poultry.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011. It was in both of my breasts.

The cancer was caused by a breast cancer gene I inherited from one of my grandfathers. Four women from his generation in his family died of the same breast cancer.

The last time I talked to my genealogist about it he said I had one of the 170 breast cancer genes they have discovered. This was in 2015. There are many breast cancer genes. There are also many factors that cause breast cancer like DDT that was sprayed throughout neighborhoods to kill flies for decades. They used to have trucks going through neighborhoods spraying that chemical to kill bugs and flies. It wasn't until the late 1970s that it was found to cause breast cancer.

Blaming being vegan for Linda McCartney's death is ridiculous.

If God didn't intend for us to eat meat, then why did he make it taste so good?
I don't believe in god

I'm not too sure about that myself, but meat tastes good for some reason.

Not to me it doesn't. I can't stand the taste of smell of it. That's why I don't eat it.

Just the smell of it literally makes me vomit.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm completely supportive of you eating what you want, but I hate to see anyone's discomfort.

Those who worry about their health the most, die the youngest.

If I'm going to live 5 years longer but can't eat and drink what I want................F that. What does one miss the last 5 yrs of life anyway???...Drooling

You might not miss anything but those who you leave behind will.

Your children, your grandchildren.

They wouldn't get a chance to spend that time with you.

If you have experienced losing one or both of your parents you might know what I'm talking about.

Both of my parents are dead. In fact, all the adults from my youth are all dead now. Coronavirus killed my last living aunt on April 14th.

I would give everything I have to have that 5 years with my dad or mom you so casually and callously throw away.

I bet your children and grandchildren would too.

If being a vegan is so natural and healthy, how can this happen and what does it say about adults on the same diet?

Being a vegan did not help her did it? I never said it caused her cancer. Like I said, those that worry about their health the most die the youngest. Sorry for your struggles and see your strength.

I notice breast cancer is higher in Eastern Euro decent. Being overweight is a huge factor in breast cancer. Combined with a family history.

Women who never had children are in a higher risk group also.

So is being a dumb britt

It's not meat in general IMO but red meat. I'm trying to cut back on red meat and be more balanced between chicken, turkey, salmon, and beef/pork.

that's pretty much what i eat when it comes to meat.

chicken & turkey. i'm not a fish eater & i'll have beef maybe 5x a year...

turkey sausage ( sweet italian ) is great in sauce for pasta & i'll take it out of its casing to make patties for grilling. add a slice of cheese & sauteed peppers.... yummmmm....
I eat beef/pork every week and grill salmon once a week also. You ought to try grilling salmon. If you do it right it right it's not "fishy" at all.
If you can get fresh salmon, grill it lightly, just enough to cook it but not so much as to dry it out. Serve it with just a little lemon and butter sauce, a baked potato and a fresh salad and Oh' my God, what great meal and it's good for you. Salmon is rich in fish oils.

You just described one of my favorite dinners.

Copper River salmon is the best. If you can get it buy it. It's expensive now but worth every penny. The season for that salmon starts at the end of May and continues in June. If you can find some, buy it. Costco usually sells it but you have to get there early in the morning or it will all be gone.

Boy you really read a hell of a lot in my posts don't you. I weigh 5 lbs more than what I did when I was 30. I've eaten everything I've wanted. My health is great. I've eatern 2 tomatoes a day since childhood. It is a key to super immunity.

Let's talk about death. I had a case of osteomyelitis that went through my blood stream in Draconian medical times relative to today. I was around 9 and clinically dead for 10 minutes in a tub of ice in a hospital. Want to know something? I wish I was not revived. Why, I will never answer.
