The dispatcher sure went out of her way to disarm the home owner, no way I would lay down my gun until the police had secured the pos on the floor.

That has been my experience, also when they get there they don't rush right in. Can't blame them for that though.

No way I would have left my gun in the closet. No way I would be IN the closet. I'd be crouched by the bed, waiting to shoot anybody who walked through the door until I knew the cops were in the house.
