Yes We Will Pay More With Tariffs

Trump sure likes levying higher prices on consumers by threatening and placing tariffs on imports to the US.

By the time he's done only the rich won't care.

"Colombia has stopped millions of migrants from coming to the US. Trump’s strategy of antagonizing our allies is not smart policy—it just endangers decades of partnership with Colombia," Gallego added. "We can’t act like this is some sort of 3D chess. This could’ve been handled with a simple phone call."

HOLY SHIT BATMAN!!!

Liberoidals finally admitting that taxes just end up getting passed along to the end purchaser!!

Columbia is sending their own planes to pick their people up...

"25% tariffs on all goods coming into the United States, which will go up to 50% in one week; a travel ban and visa revocations on Colombian government officials and its allies; fully imposing emergency treasury, banking and financial sanctions. He said he would also direct enhanced border inspections of Colombian nationals and cargo."

Don't buy Colombian.
The primary U.S. imports from Columbia are #1 crude oil--I thought Biden said we were awash in oil?--#2 coffee which we can get elsewhere and #3 cut flowers which I'm pretty sure we won't miss a whole lot. However the USA is the primary importer of goods from Columbia and they'll miss us. Running a distant #2 through #5 are Panama, Netherlands, India and Brazil.

The presidential plane at that to give a 'dignified' trip home to a bunch of criminals? No wonder their President has such a low approval rating with priorities like that. Every one on that plane has broken the law since they made it across the border.

This is all for show... Columbia will quietly allow flights... most of the crap being thrown at Trump is for show they know Trump has the biggest mandate for a US president in years...
Which means he has the American peoples support...

I imagine any increase of stuff coming from Columbia--I wonder if they'll tax the cocaine :) --will be more than offset by us not having to spend the estimated $68,000 it costs us in goods and services for each of most of the estimated 190,000 migrant Columbians that are here.

And that doesn't include the cost in blood and treasure via their criminal element that are here. The criminal element they don't want to allow to come back.

Stop making sense already.

chinese goods, mexican goods, south american goods, canadian goods...
Good... we need to get back to making things... if you care about the environment look up what all the shipping does to it... you may change your tune...

Amen to that. Of note, in the last Trump administration, we pulled out of the climate accords and tossed out all the nonsensical green policies/mandates. And we still reduced our greenhouse emissions more than any other country in the world.

I am pretty darn sure Trump doesn't want dirtier air, water, soil than any of the rest of us do, and the common sense policies we will have will ensure that doesn't happen.

And American made for so many things is so much better for America and Americans not only because it increases good jobs and prosperity, but we can be sure of how American made is made and what is in it.

It's dangerous for a country like China to make almost all of the components that go into our pharmaceuticals. But that's the situation that exists now. And should we go to war with China and not have access to those very important things, we would be in a hell of a mess.

They would still be on the phone. I would say it was the MOST EFFECTIVE way of dealing with a belligerent leader who is trying to get rid of his own undesirables.
This isn't some form of 3d Chess. It IS 3d Chess and we have the grand master.

Yes and no..... Just because we don't see what we're paying at Walmart doesn't mean the displaced American workforce isn't costing us money through the back door. When you buy from a foreign competitor you're not paying for it with your money you're paying for it with your job.

His tariff threat worked. The Columbian president announced 20 minutes later that he would accept deportation flights and also now offer his own presidential plane to facilitate the flights. Trump was right and his tariff threat worked flawlessly. :dunno:

Not really. The columbian president has ordered 25% tariffs on all incoming American goods into his country. We are now in a tariff war with Columbia for literally no reason.
