Our Nationalist Chinese allies saved many Americans during WW2 including the fliers from Doolittle's raid. How did post war Truman decisions lead to Mao's revolution?

Mao and the Communists had been fighting the Nationalists before Japan's last invasion/offenses in 1937. As the battles in China increased, the Communists held back on engaging the Japanese in offensive attacks, went on defense to horde it's strength for the post war resumption of the civil war that was being fought prior to 1937.

Truman's decisions didn't lead to Mao's revolution since it had started back in the 1920s. Truman's administration did provide aid, transport and supplies to the Nationalists but it appears wasn't enough for them to defeat the Communists.
