Quote from Møse: "We have not found that there has been genocide within Ukraine."

Details: Møse said that during the investigation the Commission has noted "that there are some aspects which may raise questions with respect to that crime… [i.e., the crime of genocide - ed.] but we have not yet put in any conclusion here".

Background:

  • On 7 December 2022, the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations endorsed a resolution recognising Russia’s actions in Ukraine as genocide.
  • On 8 December 2022, Canada and the Netherlands filed a joint declaration of intervention in the International Criminal Court case concerning Allegations of Genocide under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (Ukraine v. Russian Federation).

DONETSK, 20 March - RIA Novosti. Requests for protection from arbitrariness of the Ukrainian authorities and the army come to the office of the human rights ombudsman in the DNR, Daria Morozova, the republic's human rights ombudsman, told RIA Novosti correspondent.
"The facts of Kiev's use of 'barrier troops' take place. You and I observe it not only in the media, it is seen in almost all social networks and messengers. Ukrainian fighters themselves post such videos that they do not want to go. That they are forced, that they are without supplies, without weapons and so on.
Earlier Ukraine used civilians as a human shield, but now it's essentially covering itself with mobilized men. They let them in ahead of them, while they wait at observation points behind them. They are used as cannon fodder. Unfortunately, there is no other word for it. Moreover, we also receive appeals from their parents and wives asking us to somehow protect these young men, who, for a moment, are fighting against us.
And at the moment, unfortunately, we don't have that mechanism. But again, this problem must be resolved in the legal field of Ukraine. And here the question is to international organizations. Because I'm sure that if the wives and mothers get through to us, they are just as likely to knock at these same international organizations... Who, again, turn a blind eye. The more this is encouraged in Ukraine, the more likely it will become part of a certain system. And it will continue, it just won't stop," Morozova said.

You can throw a dart onto a map of the western Ukraine and there’ll be a 95% chance that it lands on a place that has a statue or street in honor of one of Stepan Bandera or Roman Shukhevych
