It is on point; it establishes beyond contradiction that Trump is a candidate for re-election from day one of his Presidency. It shows that there is no basis for thinking anything Trump does is not motivated by re-election considerations.

Actually he's motivated by not violating the law. Having announced allows him to legally maintain a campaign committee and use funds form that committee to pay for the venues, travel and other expenses. But let's not let little things like facts get in the way of half assed regressive propaganda, RIGHT?

Yet another "rah, rah...I'm all that and a bag of chips" event hosted for a train wreck of a President who has no demonstrated gravitas or subject matter expertise on any matters of policy.

The man hasn't even begun to govern and he's already running for re-election. WTH !!! The man submitted a half-baked health insurance reform bill for Congress to consider and the damn thing doesn't even deliver on his own promises re-health insurance, which you will recall included:

This confuses you because he's smart and you're not. Trump's real power in the Republican Party is all the voters who keep their enthusiasm for him, and when those members of Congress who will run for reelection in 2018 see the popular support he has they will be more amenable to his positions even if they are not their own positions. The bill before Congress, which is not a bad start, is Ryan's bill, and while President Trump has been supportive of the process, he is now about to help Congress make changes in it. Thus kind of show of support by Republican voters will help him convince Congress to go along with his changes.
