Now it looks like the DC area will become its own rustbelt. People around here have no clue of the disrepair that so many towns around the country have fallen into as a result of the outsourcing of manufacturing. Now DC will get a taste.
I’ve always said that my local middle class ghetto of Prince George’s County, MD (America’s wealthiest ghetto) would resemble Rwanda if the federal government ever moved away.

There’s an expensive steakhouse in PG County I went to once, and I’d estimate that 75% of the customers were black. As we walked to our table, I glanced at the food on tables, and there were big juicy steaks, unkosher stuff like lobster, and bottles of wine.

I ended up ordering the $32 hamburger, the cheapest thing on the menu because I couldn’t afford their $68 filet (that included NO sides…..you had to lay another $10 for a potato)….but then again, I wasn’t a government “worker.”
