Would there be protests if homeless Jordan Neely had choked Dan Penny to death?

I'm sorry, did he kill anyone those 40 times? Or were they minor offenses like turns style jumping and public intoxication?

I find it hilarious when wingnuts whine about fentanyl deaths, which only happen because we are treating addiction like a criminal problem rather than a medical one.

When Rush Limbaugh gets the same treatment by the criminal justice system that a poor drug addict gets, get back to me.
You are right about addiction treated as a crime. The law enforcement/judicial game is suffering for it today. However, if the addict commits crimes to soothe the addiction, then that may be a different thing. A lot of people have been destroyed by our law enforcement/judicial system. What is happening is that a door was opened in Prog areas and it is slowly spreading on issues we have swept under the rug for many decades. Those affected and found life harder because of self-important men and women dictating their sadism and powers to others is coming home to roost. We are a divided people.

If he had he would likely be in jail. At best, out on bond until his trial.
not guilty by reason of insanity is your idea of justice served?

Why not just value innocent life at below $950 ?

Then the flakey Soros DA can just not press charges and turn the crazy street bum loose

you really are the dumbest mother ****** to ever walk the planet,,

how are you still alive??

Um, reality... If they catch them, they convict them.
If you are poor and black you don't stand a chance in our justice system.

Oh, for your video... you don't get credit for trying to save someone after you fatally injured them to start with.

That is total bullshit. Stop the tired rhetoric which just is not fact based. Maybe in the 90's with Incest Joe's crime bill in force, but not now.

42 Times for mostly petty crimes... We don't have the prison space for minor offenses.

What should have happened was this man should have been put in a mental hospital, but we don't do that anymore.

He certainly didn't deserve to be killed.

America is just as racist today as it's been most of my life. No real improvement since the 1960's.

We do not have the mental hospitals because of people like you.

They are released for MINOR offenses. Nobody is being released for a murder.
Except Dan Penny, apparently.
They are being released for felonies too. Do you know how many have returned to kill who they have assaulted. Quite a few.

Celebrated murderer kills two more people after being released and praised by the press

figures beating up old people and threatening other people is petty to you..

Nope. We don't have them because Republicans slashed funds to give tax breaks to rich people.

Um, what does a guy who served his sentence in OK have to do with NY.

I don't do link as a rule because most of you people are too dumb to understand them.

I don't think anyone would argue that someone who murders defenseless young children is right in the head. But setting aside the mental state of this particular teenager, if Gov. Abbott believes that mental health is the problem, why hasn't he done more to improve it?

Gov. Abbott has been governor since 2015, and since then, there have been roughly 13 mass shooting events in his state. Yet he has done nothing to expand access to mental health care. Texas has the highest uninsured rate in the country, with 17.3 percent of its population without health insurance. This is roughly twice the national average. Furthermore, Texas also has the most uninsured children in the country—roughly 1 million. Mental Health America rated the state dead last for overall access to mental health services.

Ok. You just asked what my link about a crime in another state had to do with this. What does Gov. Abbott have to do with this?

Um, because he's typical of the Republicans who blame mental health for violence and THEN refuses to fund it.
Mental Health solutions are going to take some time and serious deliberations. The treatment of patients would be scrutinized again and the corruption of it like so many other things including the lawyers would rear its ugly head. We see attempts to deal with the homeless and the incredible costs when they do.

They fund the police and a justice system that does not keep these people in jail. Get on those people. It has little to do with Republicans.
