I don't think they had to be TOLD much to dislike the possibility of being killed. Attending the funerals of their classmates was probably enough to convince them.

Sure, yeah, then they all called each other up, organized and decided to all leave school in the middle of the year and go on a walk out to Washington DC, and their folks told them to wear clean underwear, be careful, take lots of cash and call them when they arrived.

People are acting like high school kids are brainless, that seeing their peers and friends killed and nothing changing can’t possibly effect them enough to take action. These are things that effect them and social media has allowed them all to be aware. They should be respected not vilified, there are no riots, no property destruction, etc.

There are students who do not want to ban guns. Would they also have the support of the administrations and teachers if they wanted to walk out and protest? Of course not. Only those students echoing the party line are cheered on by the school authorities.

No, not brainless, simply too young to have much life experience and therefore straight up unqualified to be dictating public policy.

To those of us on the other side, what it looks like is the left implying that going through a violent trauma somehow makes a child enlightened and wise. I've spoken to at least one or two psychologist/psychiatrist types over the years that might disagree with the idea that PTSD provides clarity.
